    FINALLY A VICTORY

We should all be encouraged with the news I heard last night on Lou Dobbs' program. The administration has sent a letter to Congress asking them to allow the REAL ID Act to be included in the Iraq supplemental bill. I don't know whether ALI-PAC has been actively involved in this particular issue but I know, as an individual, I have. I have written everyone I can think of including the President and Bill Frist and begged them to HONOR their word given to Rep. Sensenbrenner when they were pushing him to sign the 9/11 bill before they adjourned before Christmas and they PROMISED him that they would attach his REAL ID Act to the first "must pass" legislation of the new Congress. But, in the last few weeks, Frist and 10 or 11 other Senators were lobbying others NOT to address it on the Iraq bill. That is just disgusting. The Administration evidently wanted it put off as well.

I believe this is a really good sign that people speaking out CAN make a difference. That is THE ONLY thing I can see that caused this reversal because it sure was beginning to look like that one was going to be dragged out forever and just finally fall by the wayside. So, take heart. The voice of the people is being heard. We must continue the good fight.

The government will kill it;every minute that they wait is a minute more for the advocates of illegals to get their game on.I think the only way to get the feds to do anything is to do as much as possible under the powers of each state.Until the United States are really united over this subject the feds will sit back and do like they have been doing-nothing.

Bill O'Reilly on his show last night made the suggestion by question of Impeachment proceedings agains the President if something isn't done on the borders.

Maybe the Administration decided to go for the REAl ID to give us "something" and then just use it to register illegals. We'll see what the intention is.

The way I look at it, it's something and the first gain we've had from the White House.

I know we need to stop the illegal immigrants here, but I still have a problem with what the REALID Act entails. It would allow FAR TOO MANY ABUSES by the government to exact on it's own citizens.

I can't support the REALID Act in it's entirety. Sorry, but the reason the founding fathers created our Constitution and form of government was to limit its power and to slow the process, so things could be thought out in its entirety. And we see that it is not happening like it should.

The founding fathers had no intention on our population being what it is.

Patience in the past has put this country where it is now, at the peril of being overrun by illegal immigrants.

They are not the immigrants that came to this country in the past and wanted to be a part of the American Dream.

They want to be the majority and make the rules, then see what good our Constitution does us.

There have already been too many abuses by our government while Americans have been asleep.

That is what they are counting on, put the fear of a national identity card and paralyze us into slowing down and considering, do we want this, and think it over some more.

Then loosing our momentum and being back where we were.

I have been debating this with myself, and we already have a national identity card. The Social Security card and Drivers license.

If they can be made it foolproof without any private information on it then maybe it would not be a bad idea.

It doesn't scare me anymore, but being invaded by Mexico and dissolving our borders does.

Not to mention the crappy Trade Bills that give us nothing.

Yes, the SS is like a national identity card. People ask for the social that have no right to ask for it at all. I've started refusing to give it..they can use my DL # or we won't be doing any business.

GO ROADRUNNER!! No one is to ask for your social security number except an entity issuing credit and only with your permission. NO one else is suppose to have it except the government entities entitled in order process your payments to their "funds". That is ALREADY AMERICAN LAW, but we have become a form of "anarchy" with a total abandonment of the Rule of Law in many crucial areas that affect who we are, why we're here and what we're doing.

Yet ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS don't need anything....to get a job, to buy a house, to gain political power.....just "presence".

    Weird isn't it???

Darlene, your statement that the national id card doesn't scare you anymore but Mexico invading us and dissolving our borders does, I agree!
