Five-Time Deported Illegal Alien Accused of Beating Infant to Death
An illegal alien living in Tennessee who was arrested and charged with beating a four-month-old infant to death had been previously deported from the United States five times, according to U.S. Customs and Immigration Enforcement (ICE).
“ICE officials Jose Agurcia-Avila is an alias name given to Shelby County officials, and the suspect’s real name is Carlos Zuniga-Aviles,” according to WMC5. “He’s accused of killing a four-month-old boy upon learning he was not the child’s father.”Zuniga-Aviles is a Honduran national, and was charged with first-degree murder in perpetration of aggravated child abuse. The child died from “blunt force trauma” and reportedly had a fractured skull and rib, according to a medical examiner.“ICE officials have since filed an immigration detainer against Zuniga-Aviles, who was initially deported to Honduras in February 2010,” according to The New York Post. “He was also returned to the Central American country in 2011, 2012, 2015 and 2016.” It is a felony to reenter the United States after deportation, and Zuniga-Aviles is currently being held without bond.The brutal killing occurred amid gridlock in Washington, D.C. over border security. Democrats and establishment Republicans have worked to thwart President Donald J. Mitt Romney (R-Utah), Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), and Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska).
