FLASHBACK: Harry Reid Praises Mark Pryor for Obamacare Deal

FLASHBACK: Harry Reid Praises Mark Pryor for Obamacare Deal

    BY: Washington Free Beacon Staff
    October 13, 2014 3:15 pm

In December 2009, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D., Nev.) praised Sen. Mark Pryor (D., Ark.) for his leadership role in passing Obamacare–a stance that has now come back to haunt Pryor in the weeks leading up to the 2014 midterm elections.

“I asked Senators Schumer and Pryor to work together with a group of moderates and progressives,” Reid said. “Everyone thought, ‘it’s an impossible job.’ But these two fine senators have done an outstanding job of leading these two groups of people.”

Pryor’s ‘leadership’ in passing Obamacare resulted in 35,000 Arkansans losing their plans in 2013, despite assurances from

President Obama that “if you like your plan, you can keep it.

Democrat Candidates Mark Begich (D-AK) and Mark Pryor (D-AR) Refuse to Answer Obamacare Questions

    By Onan Coca / 16 October 2014

Senator Pryor chose the path of silent escape when Mattera asked him about his vote for Obamacare. “Why do you think voters should trust you again, seeing that you canceled their health care plans and raised their premiums with your Obamacare vote?” Silence… maybe Pryor will get back to Mattera later?
    <font color="#000000"><span style="font-family: Arial">

Begich was a little more talkative.

“Senator Begich … do you remember when you promised that Obamacare would lower premiums by thousands of dollars? What ever happened to that?” the author asked in a second exchange.

“We’re still working on it,” answered the Alaska senator. “I have a ‘Copper Plan.’ You should look at it,” he insisted.
“You’re still working on it?” Mattera asked incredulously.

“Premiums are going up … shouldn’t voters hold you accountable?” continued Mattera.

“You should look at my stuff on it,” Begich responded.

At least Begich didn’t clam up and run away… but his response really isn’t much better than Pryor’s. Obamacare has been law for 4 years, the people of Alaska – who happen to be Begich’s constituents – NEVER wanted Obamacare (and still don’t)… but don’t worry Alaskans, Mark Begich is WORKING ON IT.

    It’s patently ridiculous.
Mattera’s response to both Senators is pure gold and 100% accurate.

“For people like Begich and Pryor, they didn’t care about the negative impact Obamacare would have on the American people,” said Mattera. “They were going to ensure their cronies profited handsomely, even if the law has inflicted absolute misery on the rest of us.”
