I find it troubling and frightening that someone can be suspended from their job simply because they wrote a letter to their Congressman. Talk about tyranny of the majority.
I agree completely. Is our nanny government now saying, "When we want your opinion, we'll give it to you!"? What's truly frightening are the similarities between what political correctness and facist Italy during WWII.

I guess I missed something, but where does it say she was suspended from their job for writing this letter? If that is the case I sure agree with you.

Jan Hall, 59, was suspended without pay Wednesday [2005] after the letter was printed in the Spanish-language daily newspaper, El Nuevo Dia, spurring protests at Sadler Elementary School.

I agree. I wouldn't be surprised if this were purposely done. It appears too phony.

The letter seems bogus. I dont think a teacher would write that out of fear of losing her job.
I think the letter was written by someone who wanted to draw attention to themselves as being the poor victims of racism and discrimination. Maybe by doing this, they think people will feel sorry for them and make them legal citizens.
IF the teacher did write it, then shame on her for some of the things she said. But I do agree that there should be a halt to all immigration for a period of 5-10 years so that agencies can get caught up with the numbers already here. And I do agree that illegal aliens are taking the jobs of American citizens.
