    GAS PROTEST

    Grassroots efforts from my email...

My family and I are going to do it...hope this ball rolls far and wide.

We are asking everyone not to purchase gas on Thursday Sept 1st as a protest against the escalating prices. If we all make our protest known at the pumps it will significantly decrease the income made by the oil companies by millions of dollars.
Please pass this on to all your e-mail lists so that the impact can Be maximized.

So, everyone can fill up their gas tanks the day before? What's the point? The oil companies can actually stand to lose 4.6 Billion as that email states (yes, I got it sent to me 3-4 times).

What has to happen is Congress needs to grow a backbone and tell these companies to stop manipulation of oil prices. Congress put a stop to it back during the last gas "crisis" and they can do it again. Only if they weren't bought off.

Hawaii just put a cap on how high prices can go for gasoline in their state, why can't the rest of the 49 do the same?

People need to call their representatives and raise cain about it today, tomorrow, Sept. 1st and beyond until they listen or we boot them out of office.

I can't see a 1 day boycott having really any effect. If the oil companies lost revenue one day they are eventually going to get it back on another day. Face it we are addicted and dependent on oil. I don't think the oil companies will care.

I can't see caps helping either. I would suspect that may cause a shortage of supplies down the road. The oil companies would probably start sending oil to markets without restrictions.

The sad thing is that a lot of our elected officials are part of the out of control corporate American empire. They are the ones who profit from these businesses; therefore, why would they want to stop their profits? They won't, and never will. The only way something like that would happen is if America changes their voting habits. Now the question is, "How likely is that?"

What eventualy happens when you put a cap ongas prices is that the smaller, out of the way, low volume stations are forced out of business. Larger, more central, higher volume stations end up with a larger share.
I support enforcement and see its lack as bad for the 3rd World as well. Remittances are now mostly spent on consumption not production assets. Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

    study

Study the effects of GENERAL STRIKE in Europe.

Is there anything successful besides crap made in china, that we can emulate anymore?

Homework, read about General Strike, and its impact. But I guess that countries that have looters running wild, ripping off whatever sodden remnants they can, down in N.O. what can we expect from a Nation with NO SOLIDARITY amongst the general populace? We ARE what we APPEAR to be. We can help each other in catastrophe, but not in getting our point across to the corporate cronies that rule our lives? WIMPY, WIMPY, WIMPY!!!

Have you people not seem the refineries blown apart, have you not seen the off shore oil platform stuck under a bridge, and you not seem the off shore unloading platform where the supertankers unload from damaged.

There will not be any crude oil unloading in the Gulf for along time.
The pipeline that moves oil from Houston to Virgina has gone down.

98% of the US gas production has been stopped. Do you really think a one day boycott is gonna raise an eyebrow?

You worry about 3.00 a gal... $4.50 a gal by New Year if we're lucky.

Think I'm gonna buy more oil stock!

The Truckers of America should unite and strike and cause havoc.

The Country may come to standstill with economic damage but the mess would send a message.

A week or two ago, I caught a blip of news on CNN that showed a convoy of Truckers had parked their trucks in a Florida city and jammed up the city good for a protest. They want to play games.....

A little note on the cap on gas in Hawaii.

It was a cap on the WHOLESALE price of gas. So the gast stations can get the gas cheap and still sell it high to us.

    No difference....
