After decisively casting their ballots for President Barack Obama in 2008 and 2012...

After decisively casting their ballots for President Barack Obama in 2008 and 2012, blue state voters are now starting to walk away from the Commander-in-chief.
Even though New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, a Democrat, is leading Republican Challenger Rob Astorino by more than 25 points in a poll released by Marist College, President Obama’s approval rating is the lowest it has ever been in the Empire State since he assumed office.
Only 39 percent of New Yorkers believe the President is doing an excellent (12 percent) or good (27 percent) job.
Still, New York State residents give their U.S. Senators a thumbs up as reflected in the poll. Democratic Senator Chuck Schumer receives a 54 percent approval rating, and Senator Kirsten Gillibrand receives a 48 percent approval rating.
Earlier this month, a Field Poll released by the Sacramento Bee showed that only 45 percent of Californians approved of the President’s job performance, while 43 percent approved. It was the first time since 2011 that President Obama’s approval rating dropped below 50 percent in the Golden State, according to the report.
