'Good Samaritans'?: Abetting illegals

Joining the Justice Department in the leftist opposition to Alabama's immigration-enforcement law taking effect Sept. 1 are Christian leaders who say it criminalizes ministry to illegal aliens. But a religiously motivated crime is still a crime -- and illegals still are criminals.

A lawsuit filed by Episcopal, Methodist and Roman Catholic bishops and a Roman Catholic archbishop contending the law violates free exercise of religion and criminalizes "Good Samaritans" has been consolidated with Justice's lawsuit claiming it interferes with federal immigration law, The New York Times reports.

The clergy say the law's ban on transporting, harboring, renting to or contracting with known illegals means they won't be able to give illegals rides, invite them to services or marry or baptize them.

Legislators say those provisions are aimed at human traffickers and illegals' employers, not churches or Good Samaritans. Intent counts, too: To be a crime, "harboring," for example, must be done to keep illegals from detection.

Love thy neighbor? The neighbors these clerics should love are fellow Americans, not the criminal intruders who'll deprive U.S. workers of jobs and burden U.S. taxpayers so long as the Obama administration fails to secure U.S. borders and engages in all sorts of machinations in pursuit of backdoor amnesty.

Just ask these self-serving hypocrites how many of their jobs they handed over to illegal aliens? Ask them how much of their wages and salaries they handed out to illegal aliens? Ask them how many of their kids had to sit out of colleges and universities because an illegal alien got their seat? Ask them how many taxes their organizations pay to support this idiocy?

When churches and church leaders forsake all morality and justice to hand over someone else's job to illegal aliens, hand out someone else's livelihood to illegal aliens, deprive someone else's child of a college education to hand over one to an illegal alien, and abuse a mandated tax system that forces others to pay for the consequences of illegal immigration while exempting their own organization from it, then the term "Good Samaritan" no longer has anything to do with Christianity in the United States.

These treasonous men have not only made a mockery of US law, US borders and US sovereignty, they've made a mockery of Jesus Christ.
