A group of top Republican donors have reportedly begun an intense effort to draft former Florida governor Jeb Bush into the race for the GOP presidential nomination in 2016.

A Washington Post report quotes one major donor as saying that the "vast majority" of the top 100 givers to 2012 GOP nominee Mitt Romney would back Bush in a nomination fight.

The report also claims that a hard press has begun to get Bush into the race because conservative leaders and longtime Republican operatives are concerned about the electoral viability of New Jersey governor Chris Christie and Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul. Christie's standing and poll numbers, both nationally and among Republicans, have been damaged by the ongoing investigation into whether he knew of access lane closures to the George Washington Bridge ordered by his staff as apparent political retaliation.

On the other hand, Paul's libertarian views on matters like surveillance by the National Security Agency and his perceived softness on foreign policy has also raised red flags in the GOP establishment. Paul's victories in straw polls at the Conservative Political Action Conference and the Northeast Republican Leadership Conference earlier this month may also have been a factor in the renewed push for a Bush candidacy.

Earlier this week, Bush met privately with casino magnate and GOP donor Sheldon Adelson and addressed the Republican Jewish Coalition's senior members at a dinner held Thursday at Adelson's company airport hangar. The Post, citing a donor in attendance at the dinner, reported that the crowd of about 60 guests applauded when one told Bush, "I hope you run for President in 2016."

Bush, the brother of former President George W. Bush and the son of former President George H.W. Bush, served two terms as governor of Florida between 1999 and 2007. After leaving office, his name was put forward as a possible Senate candidate in 2010 and a presidential candidate in 2012. However, despite the rumors, Bush has remained out of political life.

Bush's advisers told The Post that the former governor was not actively exploring a candidacy and would not make a decision on running until the end of this year.

They are either wasting their money or supporting the existing regime's policies.

    1. 310 Million Americans in this country and Jeb Bush is once again our only chance to beat Hillary will be the clarion call from the GOP / RNC

    2. John McCain is our ONLY Chance to win the Next Election they said

    3. Mitt Romney is our ONLY Chance to win the Next Election they said

and now those same loser's will put forth another loser for the GOP

    4. Jeb Bush is our ONLY Chance to win the Next Election

If you want to mobilize the Left and Independent's once again ... Push Ole Jeb in front of Merica as our ONLY chance to take back this country and watch how fast the base once again bails on you

H.W. Bush wants a New World Order

G.W. Bush collapsed the Entire U.S. Economy

Jeb Bush in conjunction with Charlie Christ destroyed Florida from the Inside out. Your state maybe in a recession; Florida is in a DEPRESSION

Jeb Bush's call to arms right now is AMNESTY and Common Core ... both of these are NATION KILLERS

3 family's have controlled this country for the last quarter century

    H.W. Bush - 4 Years
    Bill Clinton - 8 Years
    G.W. Bush - 8 Years
Barack Obama- 8 Years A.K.A. Barry from Kenya

How are you liking the Damage they have done so far

    5. WE DO NOT HAVE A MONARCHY; to make it worse - these 3 family's must have the worlds most screwed up Gene Pool

my choice will once again be limited: the Drunk Lesbian on the Left; the Retarded Fool on the Right

I need to make a decision on wether to stay home on election day; or to vote for Hillary. One thing I know... I will Never in this lifetime vote for another Bush

GOP establishment turns to Jeb Bush “The folks who gave us McCain and Romney have already made up their minds”

    March 31, 2014

GOP establishment turns to Jeb Bush

    Thomas Lifson

The Washington Post has laid on the table a story sure to rile conservatives: Influential Republicans working to draft Jeb Bush into 2016 presidential race.

LAS VEGAS — Many of the Republican Party’s most powerful insiders and financiers have begun a behind-the-scenes campaign to draft former Florida governor Jeb Bush into the 2016 presidential race, courting him and his intimates and starting talks on fundraising strategy.

Concerned that the George Washington Bridge traffic scandal has damaged New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie’s political standing and alarmed by the steady rise of Sen. Rand Paul (Ky.), prominent donors, conservative leaders and longtime operatives say they consider Bush the GOP’s brightest hope to win back the White House.

Bush’s advisers insist that he is not actively exploring a candidacy and will not make a decision until at least the end of this year.

Ron Radosh of PJM sums it up: “The folks who gave us McCain and Romney have already made up their minds.”

Now I am sure Jebbie, as the 43rd president reportedly called his brother, is a fine man. And he has a Latina wife, speaks Spanish fluently, and has children that his father, G.H.W. Bush once called “the little brown ones.” Multi-racial children appear to have helped Bill deBlasio win the mayor’s office in New York City.

But as Paul Mirengoff of Powerline wrote, “In a recent Washington Post-ABC News poll, almost half of the respondents said they definitely would not vote for Jeb Bush.”

Face it, the Bush brand is damaged goods. And Americans have a justifiable suspicion of family dynasties. In fact, should Hillary Clinton be the nominee, a Bush at the top of the GOP ticket does not just neutralize that argument, it hands an advantage to Clinton. After all, when the country had a chance to vote on Bush v. Clinton the first time, it went for Clinton. Then there is the small problem of Jeb’s position on “immigration reform,” a policy that is anathema to the GOP base. A Bush candidacy, if foisted on the party by the money men, could very well lead to a third party run, thereby handing to presidency to the Democrats.

Stay tuned, this could get ugly.

Hey Tea Party, Republican Leadership Hates You

Enter to win the Family Gun Package Giveaway!

Republican House Speaker John Boehner will spend next weekend at a Ritz Carlton event hosted by an anti-tea party group devoted to fighting conservatives within the GOP.
Boehner and House Majority Leader Eric Cantor will be among 28 House members attending a $5,000-a-head event hosted by The Republican Main Street Partnership’s advocacy group, Red State reported. Donations will reportedly go to the anti-tea party super PAC Defending Main Street, which by February had received most of its funding from labor unions.
The event will be hosted at the Ritz Carlton on Amelia Island in Nassau County, Florida.
The Republican Main Street Partnership and its affiliated Main Street Advocacy group are headed by former Rep. Steve LaTourette, who has committed himself to raising money and running ads to defend centrist congressional Republican candidates from tea party primary challengers.
“They have decided to systemically go against center-right Republicans in primary elections,” LaTourette previously told The Daily Caller, referring to his tea party rivals. LaTourette said that tea partiers are happy to call him a “RINO” but that that they go “apoplectic” when the “RINO gets a gun” and “fires back.”
“Here’s the deal: we didn’t start this fight,” LaTourette said, “but I’m going to finish it.”
