Thread: Texas Federation of Republican Women Endorses Donald Trump for President

The Texas Federation of Republican Women (TFRW) has announced its endorsement of Donald Trump to be the next President of the United States. The move comes just before the announcement of Trump’s pick for his vice presidential running mate and days before the formal nomination of Trump as the party’s standard bearer.

“Donald Trump says what he means, and he isn’t afraid to make the hard choices that define true leadership,” said TFRW President Theresa Kosmoski in a statement obtained by Breitbart Texas on Thursday. “It is clear that his number one priority is the American people and preserving the American dream for each of us.”

The TFRW is one of the largest women’s political organizations in the nation, according to its website. It is one of the strongest and most socially-conservative grassroots groups as well. The organization represents well over 10,000 Texas women and serves more than 160 constituent clubs across the Lone Star State.

“We are a multi-generational, multicultural organization that provides the structure and support for political activists to learn, engage, and flourish,” she said in the statement.

Speaking before their last statewide convention in November, Texas Governor Greg Abbott told the women gathered that because of their efforts as a grassroots group, “Texas remains the #1 state in the nation. America needs a strong Texas now more than ever, and Texas needs Republican women leading the charge.”

In the resolution of endorsement for the GOP presumptive nominee, the TFRW stated:

The members of the Texas Federation of Republican Women endorse Donald J. Trump for President of the United States because we believe we need a President who isn’t afraid to be a leader, a President who will make the tough decisions and not kowtow to special interests.

We believe we need a President who understands the economy and how to keep Americans working and families prosperous and will protect the innocent and the unborn.

We believe we need a President who acts decisively to strike terror in the hearts of the radical terrorists who wish to do us harm and will protect our homeland from the insidious forces of evil.

We need a President who will honor the sacrifices of those who serve our country and their families and refuse to allow bloated bureaucrats to deny them what they have earned.

We need a President who understands that excessive taxes are the modern-day version of indentured servitude.

Kosmoski concluded her statement with her belief that Mr. Trump “will not compromise our values or our constitution for the sake of political correctness. We have had enough of politicians who profit from special interests; it is time for a leader who will make America great again. It is time for Donald Trump.”

The organization has not only shown its power by mobilizing the women of Texas to turn out at the polls. The group works closely with the Republican Party of Texas to recruit volunteers for what has become known as the “Mighty Texas Strike Force” were Texas Republicans travel to battleground states to help turn out conservative voters.

During the governor’s speech to the TFRW in November, he challenged the ladies to do everything they can to stop Hillary Clinton from becoming the next president.

Texas is what America is supposed to be. America needs a strong Texas now more than ever. And Texas needs Republican women leading the charge.
