American Households On Foodstamps Climb To New Record

Submitted by Tyler Durden on 06/08/2013 13:35 -0400

Yesterday, briefly, we were confused by the eruption in the stock market following a not too bad sub-200K nonfarm payrolls number. Because we know that in the New Normal bad is always good, no matter what the well-coifed TV pundit du jour tells you. Then we remembered that yesterday is when the USDA releases its monthly Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program data, i.e. Americans on Foodstamps.
It was here that the ramp was perfectly explained, because while the bad (for stocks of course) data was that individual foodstamps recipients rose by 170K in March - if just a whisker below all time highs - it was the number of American households on foodstamps, which rose to a new all time high of 23,116,441 (each collecting an average of $274.30 per month) that perfectly explained the Dow Jones' 200 point surge higher: the transfer of wealth from the poor and middle-classes to the 1% continues without a hiccup.

Does this surprise anyone..After all most jobs being created are low paying positions..The kind the illegals will be taking if amnesty goes threw thus competing with American citizens. The high paying skilled jobs will be going to foreign workers with the new visa that will be handed out with the new immigration bill..if it passes. Then you have the Americans still unemployed like me ...who go uncounted because unemployment ran out, if they even got unemployment in the first place, which I never did, after we closed our business, unemployment don't work for self-employed, even after you ran and paid taxes on the business for 12 years. Our high school children can't find a part time job to help the family, because illegals have taken them all. American families are suffering just as we all know, the ones who don't live in the fantasy world our politicians live in. They don't see the proud neighbors selling everything they have to feed their family, until they run out and have to swallow their pride and apply for food stamps. Senior Citizens giving most of their social security checks to pay for medical bills not covered and over prescribed prescriptions they are told they need to live, even if side effects might kill them. On top of all this you have millions of illegals having large families they can't afford to feed, You see there is no record of money coming in or fathers of these children and supposable single mothers, if there is no record of who you are to begin with, but fathers still manage have money to drive around in new expensive cars and have enough money left to send home to their own countries to support their families or maybe just to buy land and build a fancy home for when they return to their own country, hopefully after they qualify for SS or disability they will collect from US taxpayers if amnesty is approved.
