    Does Someone here understand Spanish

My Husband just called from his truck as he is heading to Laredo..There were 2 different DOT Signs...like a construction signs...that have never been there before... with a one 8oo number...The Sign said :"All traffic to Mexico call this number."...so I called it for him...it was a message in Spanish....maybe three recorded messages...and finally a Spanish speaking gentlemen... who keep repeating "No Speak English"...????
Just wondering what is going on at the border ???on our side with messages only in Spanish???

All that we can make out is that the operator requests you to enter a passcode if you know it, or to hit 1 for fax.

I've been pressing 2, 3 4 and getting what sounds like the same message in Spanish.

LOL When I called this is what I heard.

"Talk to ladies all over the country" and a they repeated a different 800 number.

Sounds like a TXDot board was hacked.

Maybe the illegals are leaving and this is how they get directions to the repatriation stations?

I don't know enough Spanish to figure this out, unfortunately. But, as one who lives on the border, I do know that there are people who have ID cards issued by the US gov't to make it easier for them to cross the border because they are regular crossers. I'm only guessing here but I would assume it has something to do with wait times during this holiday rush to get across the international bridges.

In El Paso, they opened up a whole bunch of extra lanes to cut down wait time (probably so these stupid idiots won't kill any more of their own kids by letting them sleep in the back of the pick up breathing carbon monoxide and then sue the US gov't!) for the holidays. The said something on the news last night that a couple of the lanes will be for the people with those ID cards.

Of course, they failed to mention that there are at least 10,000 of those cards that are forged out there somewhere but those people will undoubtedly be able to cross quicker, too.

I know that there has been Mexican Trucker protest on the bridge due to inspections and not enough lanes opened...
Thanks everyone for the input...I worry when my husband is down there cause it is a powder keg!

redbadger, I don't blame you one bit for being worried. We make at least two treks cross country each year and we have a CB in our vehicle. The cross talk in and of itself is scary to me! My father drove truck for 40 years and he would roll over in his grave is he heard the way these people treat each other today.

Yes, the truckers protest on the international bridges, the farmers protest, and sometimes just general citizens protest. It is ridiculous.

I don't know if you are aware of this but many of the trucks they want to haul stuff across the border in wouldn't even pass inspection in the USA and that is part of the reason they get all bent out of shape. Also, there are weight and content issues. These people apparently think that just because Mexico has no laws, the USA doesn't either.
