Hey everybody lookit me. I'm from texas.
Why is it everybody from texas trumpets it to the heavens like it's some kind of badge of honor? Only texans do it. Nobody from any other state feels the urge to boast about their state. I was pretty disgusted when that (expletive deleted), perry (bush wannabe) was applauded for executing over 200 prisoners. I'm all for the death penalty, but when those morons are executing innocent people and taking pride in it... I watched a documentary about that guy that was executed for immolating his kids? He was clearly innocent. I'd tell people what I really think about texans but I know some limp-wristed moderator would bounce this post if I did. Probably get bounced anyway.

I'm from Kentucky & think it's "heaven on earth"...now live in Texas so I'm proud here too, altho I never pledge allegance to the Texas flag, only to the American flag, never heard of pledging to a state flag until I got here. I think that's part of the "pride thing". I also believe patriotism is an American thing and part of the problem in our country is the courts upholding the desecration of our countries flag...it should be treason and carry a STIFF prison sentence. And no where in our country should another countries flag be flown. There's Mexican flags all over the DFW area, I just don't get it.
As far as the death penalty, it is a necessary evil in today's society. You do the best you can and pray to God you make the right decision. Obviously the jury didn't think this man was innocent....were you duped by the documentary? What I think is wrong is giving these people decades to appeal...
