They’re Leaving:High-Tech Immigrant Problem
Here is a real propaganda/BS article, however, I hope he is right about the numbers leaving , that would be nice.
[quote]By Steve Lohr
The hiring of immigrant high-tech workers was a heated issue well before the economy went into a tailspin. So it’s no real surprise that the bank bailout legislation includes language to discourage banks from recruiting skilled foreigners on work visas.
It seems to be a political gesture, understandable and probably empty. “Citibank and the others aren’t hiring, they’re firing,â€

Note the mention nof 'young' - one of the most shameless things done by those recruiting and placing foreign workers here was the deliberate displacement of older American workers. Often the older American workers had put in years, working and hoping for their years of greatest earning power to result from the skills they had honed for their employers. Often the older American workers had invested in training and ongoing education, often going into personal debt to do so. None of that mattered once the hype of 'superior foreign brainpower' took hold of management. Oftentimes, the foreign replacements had only average skill sets and intelligence, sometimes not even that. Also, fake or unverifiable degrees and credentials were seen. The result: unseating countless American white collar workers, just when they should have hit their prime earning years, often plunging them into poverty.
I remember a poster here on ALIPAC who had a sig referencing Kevin Flanagan, the programmer who killed himself after being laid off and replaced with foreign workers. I asked him about it, and it was in honor of a neighbor, a former iT guy, whose suicide did not make the national news.
Fact: there is nothing wrong with these foreigners leaving. Just the opposite. Temporary guestworker visas are supposed to be cancelled when we don't have a labor shortage, and we sure don't now! Also, the foreign student visa is so that they can be educated here, then go back to build up their own nations, not to stay here and compete with our own grads for scarce jobs.Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

If the American people don't work...........
It is stupid for our Gov't not to support American workers...........how will the Gov't pay for Obama's "Special Interest" friends, Communist Health Care and Global rip-off Cap and Crap taxes? sarcastic
I figure that since the Democratic majority will not do right by the American people for moral reasons perhaps they will do right by them for financial reasons.Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

One ray of hope someone pointed out to me is that Obama seems to have quietly retreated from his initial rhetoric about a 'temporary' H-1B increase just to get things going. I am personnaly convinced that the productivity and innovative power of Americans is so great, that we could get ourselves out of this debt mess if we were all put to optimal work (that means not just employed, but also no underemployment). Instead, the rest of the world comes a running for any jobs and opportunity we generate - you can bet those countries don't allow our workers in under most circumstances.
