HUGE: Franklin Graham to join Trump at Mobile Rally

MOBILE, Ala. — Saturday, when Donald Trump comes back to Mobile on his “USA Thank You Tour,” he is set to draw another massive crowd. This time, he will be joined by a huge figure in his own right: Christian evangelist Franklin Graham.

Franklin is the son of world renown revivalist Billy Graham, who served as spiritual advisor to Presidents Eisenhower, Johnson, and Nixon. Now the head of his father’s Evangelistic Association, he took over Samaritan’s Purse in 1979, which provides aid to people in physical need as a key part of Christian missionary work.

Graham’s inclusion only adds to the star studded lineup for the Ladd-Peebles Stadium event. In addition to Trump and Graham, soon-to-be U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.) and Kellyanne Conway will also speak.

Jennifer Jacobs of Bloomberg Politics reported on MSNBC’s “With All Day Respect” that Trump’s tour will be going “to places that mean something to Donald Trump and to his campaign.” Trump’s last rally in Mobile was the largest such gathering during the primary season, and as such, the city earned a spot on Trump’s victory tour stop list.

“It’s not just going to go to swing states,” she said. “We know the schedule, it was given to us for planning purposes but hasn’t been released publicly yet. One place they’re going to go is Mobile, Alabama, which is a place that is really special for Trump and his campaign. They attracted 30,000 people there last summer. It was a symbolic moment for them when they really realized they had a movement going on and could take this somewhere.”
