Plans are set to turn a funeral home in South Texas into an immigrant processing center, the latest in a string of facilities secured in response to the surge of unaccompanied alien minors illegally breaching the southern U.S. border.

International Educational Services, Inc., a private contractor, has reportedly leased the Sunset Funeral Home building in the near-border community of Los Fresnos as part of an expansion effort aiming to further accommodate the influx, a funeral parlor employee has revealed.

“IES will use the site as a training center, the employee said,” reports Rio Grande Valley news outlet The Monitor.

Specializing in providing “short-term emergency shelter and foster care for unaccompanied alien children,” the 501(c) (3) non-profit organization IES receives referrals for placement directly from the Office of Refugee Resettlement and runs several facilities in other South Texas border towns.

The move comes as feds continue to inject the flood of more than 55,000 Central American illegal immigrant minors overloading South Texas Border Patrol facilities into various makeshift shelters throughout the country.
