House & Senate bills for unlimited tech/science green ca

From Rob Sanchez' Job Destruction Newsletter

    <<<<< JOB DESTRUCTION NEWSLETTER No. 1876 -- 6/10/2008 >>>>>

Senators Barbara Boxer (D-CA) and Judd Gregg (R-NH) introduced a bill to
the Senate that is a companion bill to Zoe Lofgren's bill in the House. The
bills will effectively staple green cards onto the diplomas of aliens with
a master's or higher degree from a United States institution of higher
education in the field of science, technology, engineering, or mathematics
(STEM). In order to qualify for the instant green card they must find a
U.S. job in a field related to their degree.

There will be no numerical limits to the number of STEM related green cards
that can be issued. The two bills are described below:

    S. 3084
    Sponsor: Sen. Barbara Boxer [D-CA]
    Cosponsor: 1
    Introduced: Jun 5, 2008

    H.R. 6039
    Sponsor: Rep. Zoe Lofgren [D-CA]
    Cosponsors: 19
    Introduced: May 13, 2008

Rep. Lofgren is aggressively pressing ahead with her bill. On Thursday she
will hold a subcommittee hearing on the bill. At the time of this writing
there isn't any information on the witness list, but don't count on this
meeting to be fair or balanced.

    Press Release of Senator Boxer
Boxer and Gregg Introduce Bill to Reverse High-Tech Brain Drain

Measure Would Help Keep International Talent in the U.S.

    Thursday, June 5, 2008

Washington, DC -- U.S. Senators Barbara Boxer (D-CA) and Judd Gregg (R-NH)
today introduced bipartisan legislation designed to improve U.S.
technological competitiveness by allowing foreigners who graduate from U.S.
universities with advanced degrees in high tech fields to obtain green
cards if they have jobs waiting for them here in the U.S.

Senator Boxer said, "Ensuring that the U.S. is competitive in technology
means making sure that future innovators are putting their knowledge to
work here, not competing against us abroad. The best way to do that is to
offer greencards to those foreign graduates with career opportunities in
the U.S. I am proud to work with Senator Gregg to help keep America?s
economy at the forefront of technological innovation."

Senator Gregg said, "Our top-notch universities are the envy of the world,
and are educating future generations that will lead in research and
business. Unfortunately, current visa restrictions encourage highly skilled
foreign graduates from America?s universities to eventually leave for
China, India, or other countries, where they will use their first-class
educations to create innovation, jobs, and economic growth elsewhere. This
brain drain undermines our competitive advantage in the global economy,
which is a shame since their degrees often come from institutions that
receive U.S. taxpayer funding. It is critical we work to retain these
talented individuals so they can help create economic opportunity here at
home. For this reason I am pleased to join Senator Boxer on this bill to
help us hold on to highly skilled graduates from our universities so they
can lend their knowledge to our nation?s interests, not to those
    overseas."

According to the American Society of Engineering Education, more than 1 out
3 master?s degrees and more than half of all PhDs in engineering awarded
in the U.S. go to foreign national students. American-educated scientists
and engineers often end up seeking work in their home countries or places
like India and China not because of a lack of job opportunities in the
United States, but because of the limited number of work visas available to
    foreign nationals.

The Boxer-Gregg legislation would allow graduates from U.S. universities
with advanced degrees in science, technology, engineering and math to
obtain green cards without waiting in long lines, provided they have job
    offers from U.S. employers.

U.S. Representative Zoe Lofgren has introduced companion legislation in the
    House with bipartisan support.

The net effect of this piece of legislation would be to flood the disciplines with new foreign graduate degree holders seeking jobs. It would force down pay rates and discourage American students from seeking the same degrees.
I support enforcement and see its lack as bad for the 3rd World as well. Remittances are now mostly spent on consumption not production assets. Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

It seems like literially 50 bills a day from these bozo's.
God, we get 45 of them knocked down and they slip 5 by, everyday!

I'm so sick of this crap. What are the degree'd people going to do?
We have no R & D because we have no manufacturing.

In case Boxer didn't hear, on CNN Ali Velshi's job expert said our American graduates need to go overseas for a good job now! So, why do we need more and more foreigners here to do work, if there are no good jobs here?

This stinks! These politicians are pure criminals and traitors.
I'm getting to hate Microsoft, apple, dell, HP and all these other multinational companies with a passion. I'll never buy another computer with Windows. How greedy is someone like Bill Gates that wants el cheapo labor while he rakes in billions on top of billions. How much is enough? MY GOD MAN!

You know the government un-employment figures are totally bogus so they can keep bringing in the foreigners and keep the pay very low, all time low! When has this country ever had a reccession with a 5% employment rate? NEVER!
Unless we get those criminals & make them pay for what they have done to our country and the lawlessness they have sponsored, we are just another Mexico ourselves!
