I can't beleive this one....

I just wanted to share this.

I sent a little analogy of what illegal immigration is like to my church elder, he's a friend. He forwarded it to the whole church and now he's in big trouble. I don't get it. Here's the email he sent:

Why can't people see how ridiculous this is?! Only in America.

Share it if you see the value of it.

If not blow it off......... along with your future Social Security funds, and a lot of other things.

All the immigrants I talked to say they find nothing offensive in this. But we have a Spanish speaking church in our churches basement and they are all offended.

What I say is, if your not doing those things in the letter, then it's not talking about you and you have no reason to be offended. If you are doing the things in the letter then you have no right to be offended because it's true and what your doing is wrong.

Illegals holler because they know that what they have done is wrong. They think they can justify it by screaming louder than we do, hoping we'll give up the fight. It ain't going to happen.

Bryan, I would guess that your church provides free use of that space to the Spanish speaking conregation, and considering their reaction, I can guess that some of them are illegal and that those who are not believe being illegally here is ok!??

Bryan, your churches elders need to be questioned on WHY these people are offended. Are they aiding and abetting? The email said NOTHING about nationality, nor about which language the character in the ficticious email spoke, so why the huge deal about being offended?

What really bothers me is that 2 of the people that seem most angry about it are both legal, so I'd really like to know what their problem is. Also, I don't know if any of the members of the Hispanic church are illegal, but I do know they all have good jobs and give to the church generously so I think there all legal. But I'm also sure most of them know illegals, but as so called Christians, they should not it's not right to break the law and have no right to find the letter offensive.

I shared the email with many immigrants and none were offended. In fact every immigrant I've talked to are pissed about this whole illegal thing, like my wife feels, if they went through the proper process then why can't everyone else?

My wife is an immigrant, a Filipino. She's had 2 of her relatives ask her for help to be here illegally. They are having a tough time back home, but she still said NO.

My wife just passed her interview with the INS and now all she has left to do is take the oath and she'll be a citizen.

If she can do it, so can everyone else. We live paycheck to paycheck, we're not rich, but we still found the money. I hear this talk about how it's so expensive to become a citizen. That's a bunch of crap, you don't need to be a citizen to be here, just a legal resident and that's very affordable for anyone.

This is interesting, I lost my job 5 years ago. That's what got us to Hawaii. My wife got her masters in teaching in the Philippines and was able to get a teaching job there. So hows that, an immigrant supporting a citizen instead of the other way around!

We had a child in 2004. That's why we moved here this year, so our daughter could be closer to my family in Michigan. My wife is still teaching, I'm a stay at home dad until our youngest goes to school at 5. Our youngest is due in November.

I'm changing my BIO now.

I saw Rush in concert twice in the 80's for their Power Windows and Signals tours :D

Rush......would like to have seen that. Saw Billy Squier (he opened for Queen, was not so thrilled about having to listen to Queen) and saw Journey in Eugene (Autzen Stadium), think that was in 84'.

Wasn't exactly a great fan of Queen myself at the time but after seeing that tour I became one. Freddie Mercury was an incredible showman and the epitome of the word entertainer.

My friend and I worked our tails off to get those tickets to see Billy Squier, and then her single mother decided that there was no way we were going into the city (we lived up by Mt. Hood) to a crowded arena concert, so she bought a ticket too and escorted us, bad enough (we were both 14), then her mother proceeded to oohh and ahhh over Billy Squiers backend in spandex, shaking and dancing all over the stage.

No, no, her exact words when she saw him "gyrating" around were "OH MY GAWD, did you see his butt?".........as she jabbed me in the ribcage 8O !!

The Journey concert went much better, it was a gift from three of my older brothers (for my 16th B-day), they drove us all down, plus some of their friends, so it was a "cool" group.

That was nice. I don't watch MTV or any music video TV, never have. This was so good because I haven't seen RUSH since the Moving Pictures tour in 1981. The Fly by Night video looks like it was from around that time.

I saw the Permanent Wave show in 1980 and the Moving Pictures show, both at Wings Stadium in Kalamazoo Michigan. If you look up the Moving Pictures show you'll see a big write up on how they used that show to test their set list. The show went on and on as they played a ton of music to see the fans reaction. Then used that to make up the set list for the rest of the tour. I was very lucky to be at that show.

I've seen many concerts since then (and a few before) but no one (or group) ever came close to putting on a show like RUSH. It's hard to believe that just 3 guys were making all that sound, you'd think there were at least 5 more up there...
