I DO NOT Believe this Gallup Poll
http://www.gallup.com/poll/125345/Obama ... ident.aspx
Because it defies what we see all around us where Democrats in Obama's base are breaking with him.
Also, because it defies common sense. I refuse to believe that about the same number of Democrats still support Obama after he lied to them about all of his core issues!
I do not believe this Gallup poll. I believe the designers of this poll seek to tell a story and blame all of Obama's popularity dive problems on Republicans which is FALSE.

I think the poll overlooks the impact of dissatisfaction with the large number of Independents who voted for Obama in 2008 but who won't approve of his performance and do that a second time in 2012, unless he radically changes his policies and starts working for the American People according to our Constitution, Laws and Will of the People.
But I totally agree that even with that omission, Democrats are not happy either, and most of those who are unhappy are so for many of the same reasons as Republicans.
It looks like Gallup Poll cooked the books of their poll at someone's request, but even at that, the story is still pretty clear and that's more and more Americans are losing confidence in the Obama Administration to deal effectively with our nation's problems, all of which were clearly known when they wanted the White House and manipulated Obama into the Seat. Otherwise, like it or not, Hillary Clinton would be President, and in my personal opinion, doing a much better job because she was more experienced and more knowledgeable of the very tasks we needed done to try and turn things around.A Nation Without Borders Is Not A Nation - Ronald Reagan

Was it taken at an SEIU meeting, or ACORN, or somewhere else favorable to Democrats?
It is important to know the exact wording of questions, who was the audience of questions.

This poll just points out the difference between Republicans and Democrats on Obama's approval ratings. I do believe it. To conservatives, Obama is a Saul Alinsky Socialist. To liberals, he is the Messiah.

It is not so much that they lied, as it is the process used and the fact they apparently did not factor in Independents, Libertarians, or other 3rd party voters. At least I did not see any numbers for them. The numbers for Republicans and Democrats appear to me to track the numbers Rasmussen has been reporting. However, Rasmussen tracks "likely voters" not all voters or all adults. That will skew the numbers in Obama's favor. Leaving out Independents, etc. also skews the numbers in Obama's favor. And using an "Average" for the year certainly does because his unrealistically high scores right after inauguration also skews the numbers for Obama.
So this report was framed to put Obama in the most favorable light. From a statistical analysis viewpoint, the overall average for the first year is meaningless. Actually, for him, it is dangerous because it is misleading. What statisticians look for are trends, not averages. What would be telling, for example, would be the average rate of decline in overall approval from month to month. The first decline or two might be indicative of problems with Obama and his administration, but not conclusive. However, a steady decline, with no recovery at any point, would be conclusive that Obama and his agenda have fallen out of favor.
I would also be most interested in the decline with Democrats and with Independents. Republicans would be expected to decline in their approval of Obama. However, if he was on target with everyone else he would have held steady, improved, or declined by only small margins with Democrats and Independents."We have met the enemy, and they is us." - POGO
