I'm new here
Howdy from Austin, Texas! I am pretty new to "the cause" and I found out about this site by listening to the Terry Anderson Show when a guy from Americans for Legal Immigration was interviewed. I wish I could remember his name--but anyway I thought that guy was a great communicator and expressed the same rage I'm feeling as I discover more and more about how our elected officials are not just oblivious to this tidal wave of illegals, but how they are actively promoting it.
As I recently told Terry Anderson, most of the people out there have no clue this is going on. When I tell my friends about, for instance, Special Order 40 in CA which forbids Law Enforcement from asking ANYBODY their immigration status, they look at me like I'm lying or just dreaming it up. I am dead serious. These laws have been very quietly passed and that's no accident. As bad as this situation is, I can guaran-damn-tee you if the truth about what's going on gets out there, we will end this crap in NO TIME.
The guy on this site who was on Terry Anderson said he found it AMAZING that illegal immigrants were being granted seats at cut-rate prices at American Universities--you could hear the genuine anger in his voice and I am with him 200%. I guarantee you 99% of Americans have no idea this kind of thing is going on. When I learned that Governor Owens of CO recently put a file up on his site IN SPANISH informing illegals how to quietly cash in on a multitude of welfare programs, at taxpayer expense, I knew it was time to SERIOUSLY get involved.
Over time I have come to understand that there is a serious effort by Big BUsiness, started by NAFTA, to dissolve our borders with not a thought about the consequences to people like you and me. I do videogames for a living and I have watched probably 50% of our jobs get quietly shipped to Russia, China and India over the past 5 years--with the full blessing of the Bush Administration and before that, the Clinton Admin. I went through my entire 401K and savings when I was unemployed for a year and fortunately I have finally found another good job but most of my friends are still jobless. I know my story is nothing compared to what's happening to many Americans and our own goverment has set the stage for ALL OF IT. If you go to Gamasutra.com, a big game recruiting site, you will see China is giving 12K signing bonuses to lure Americans over there to train our Chinese replacements.
I am 40 years old and never felt the least bit political until this issue of out-sourcing and illegal immigration came vividly into my life. I worked on a very famous videogame two summers ago in California and I could not believe what I was seeing happening to that state. Nobody spoke English, getting anything done right was impossible, and after three months I couldn't wait to get the hell out of there. But what I noticed when I got back to Texas was that the same things were happening here. I feel ashamed that I have been so comfortable, so PC up until now, that I didn't see or care about what was happening around me.
We have allowed this to occur because we have been lazy, content and brain-dead. But things are changing fast and I plan to be here for the fight.

Welcome!! the fellow you heard on Terry Anderson was our President and founder, William Gheen. That was a great show. Welcome to the forum, and trust me, there are more non political folks out there who have been spurred to action by the recent abuse of America by Bush and other leaders. You're not alone.

Welcome, Bob!
I'm pretty new at posting and fairly new with the immigration issue(1 year). I'm glad you've joined us. There is so much you can do. You write very well. Do you ever write letters to the editor? You could wake people up and educate them on this issue if you would do this.
I started an immigration reform group in NW Indiana with another activist. We have a website if you'd like to check out what we're doing. The "Action Items" page might give you some ideas for where to go from here. Check out www.ifire.org and drop us a note through the contact page, if you like.

Well, join the crowd my friend. None of us did what we should have a long time ago. Now the MMP patriots are taking all the heat for all of us.Want to make people angry? Lie to them.
Want to make them absolutely livid? Tell 'em the truth."

Welcome Bob!
Every voice is needed in this fight...the more you tell others what's happening in the real world...the better it will be. The MSM has totally failed us, quietly hiding the news articles concerning illegal immigration, the crime wave, the costs to tax payers, the plans for CAFTA, etc.
Welcome...but Get Busy...we're late...we're late, for a very important date.!!!

Hey, Aunt B
Aren't you one of the Minutepeople? If so, thank you for your sacrifice for America. I'm so proud of the MMP! They are doing a fantastic job and have awakened and encouraged so many people. I expect great things will be born from this effort.

Hi Hoosiermama,
No, I'm not one of the MMP, if this body would cooperate, I'd be there.
Just trying to get the word out and trying to keep the others getting the news out honest. I'm not sure it's possible!Want to make people angry? Lie to them.
Want to make them absolutely livid? Tell 'em the truth."

Regarding outsourcing, I have three Dell computers and deal routinely with their customer service people in India. I have heard the Los Angeles Police are reconsidering the ask-not-tell-not policy and Dell is reconsidering US customer service. I'm afraid the universities are totally lost for now to the progressive left wing.
The Minuteman Project is similar to the Swift Boat Veterans in that all we have to do is expose the truth about 11 million illegal aliens. (They're not immigrants because as I understand it, the term immigrant connotes legitimate movement.) The truth about their impact on our economy, culture, standard of living, morality, national security, etc., must be pressed home to about 200 million citizens. They will do the right thing if they know the truth. However, the illegal alien and open border lobbies are loud, widespread, well connected, organized and arrogant. Therefore, the work will be arduous because even the infinitesimal spin or deceit must be disputed.'58 Airedale
