A new web video from the Obama campaign takes some jabs at Mitt Romney for going on an "Extreme Makeover" campaign when it comes to his policies on immigration and Hispanics, among other issues.

The nearly two-minute long video is shot as if it were a promo to the popular ABC home-improvement program. A narrator intones that Romney is facing “one of his most implausible makeovers yet – making his extreme policies seem appealing to Latino voters.”

The ad continues: “Romney only has a few short weeks to overhaul his positions and slow his declining popularity with Latino voters. Can he cover up his belief in self-deportation with a bold new wallpaper choice?" A graphic then shows wallpaper being slapped up featuring the heads of Romney and his running mate, Rep. Paul Ryan.

On Monday, Romney will be appearing before the U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce in Los Angeles, where he will focus much of his address on the economy and jobs, according to excerpts released by the campaign. He says that he will attempt to “permanently fix our immigration system,” by enforcing the border. “We can all agree that what we need are fair and enforceable immigration laws that will stem the flow of illegal immigration, while strengthening legal immigration.”

In the excerpts, Romney does not reference his policy on self-deportation or his pledge during the primaries that on day one as president he would drop a U.S. lawsuit against Arizona's tough immigration law. That law was partially struck down by the U.S. Supreme Court, though the "show papers" provision survived. In its official platform, the Republican Party is calling for more Arizona-style laws.
