At least 3 dead in California shooting spree

At least 3 dead in California shooting spree

    11:35a.m. EST February 19, 2013

    Story Highlights

    • Authorities found at least six crime scenes
    • The alleged shooter shot himself in the middle of an intersection
    • At least three dead and others wounded

TUSTIN, California (AP) — A 25-minute shooting spree through Southern California left at least three dead and others wounded before the shooter killed himself, police said Tuesday.

Authorities found at least six crime scenes, Orange County sheriff's spokesman Jim Amormino told KNBC-TV.

The shootings started with an apparent carjacking Tuesday morning, said Tustin police Supervisor Dave Kanoti. Police then received reports of shootings in several locations, he said.

The alleged shooter shot himself in the middle of an intersection, Kanoti said.
It was possible more people were shot, Kanoti said, because some people may have chased the shooter.

The conditions of the wounded victims were unknown.

Four dead in O.C.: No motive yet in slaying, deadly carjackings

Multiple deaths after shooting spree from Ladera Ranch through Tustin and into Villa Park. Police appear at six different scenes.

    By Kate Mather and Hailey Branson-PottsFebruary 19, 2013, 8:40 a.m.

Orange County sheriff's officials said they don't know what prompted a series of shootings across multiple cities early Tuesday morning that left at least four people dead and others wounded.

Authorities believe the violence began in Ladera Ranch, south of Mission Viejo.
The first call came at 4:45 a.m. reporting a shooting on Red Leaf Lane, where deputies discovered a woman shot dead at the scene.

The suspect, described as a man in his 20s, fled the area in an SUV.

Sheriff's Department spokesman Jim Amormino said “multiple incidents” then occurred in Tustin and another at the Santa Ana border before the suspect apparently shot and killed himself in Orange.

“There’s a lot to sort out,” he said.

Tustin Police Lt. Paul Garaven said the suspect attempted to carjack multiple vehicles in Tustin, with each shooting occurring a few minutes apart.

Police received a report about 5:30 a.m. of a carjacking near Red Hill Avenue and Nisson Road near the 5 Freeway in Tustin, Garaven said.

The carjacking suspect opened fire and wounded a bystander, he said.

Soon after that, another carjacking was reported near the 55 Freeway, Garaven said. The victim of that carjacking was killed, Garaven said. A body lay covered by a yellow tarp on Village Way near the McFadden Avenue freeway entrance.

Another shooting was reported on Edinger Avenue near the Micro Center in Tustin, Garaven said. Officers confirmed that another carjacking had taken place, he said.

One person was killed and another was taken to a hospital. Officers spotted the suspect in a stolen vehicle, followed him into the city of Orange and initiated a traffic stop near the intersection of East Katella Avenue and North Wanda Road, Garaven said.

The suspect then shot and killed himself, Garaven said. Garaven said there is “no threat to the community” because the suspect is deceased.

Bill Myers, who works at Allied Refrigeration at Edinger Avenue in Tustin, said he passed numerous police vehicles on his way to work early Tuesday.

The Micro Center, across the street from Allied Refrigeration, was roped off, and police were at the scene, Myers said.

Myers arrived at work at about 6:20 a.m. and said there was "a bunch of activity going on. It was pretty crazy."

Oh Lord I am praying the suspect is not a white male. If he is, then we have many weeks of intensive news coverage to look forward to accompanied by renewed calls to restrict the freedoms of law abiding Americans.

If the murders were committed by a black or Hispanic male, as most of the homicides in America are, then this news will quickly disappear within a hours or days as usual in the hands of the media controllers.

Not 100% accuracy here, but since the eye witnesses or video surveilance has been able to determine the approximate age of the suspect, then it stands to reason that they know the race of the suspect which means one of two things.

Either 1, they are not sure if the suspect is Hispanic or White just yet or ...

    2. They know the suspect is black or Hispanic and thus the racial description gets omitted from the initial reports that people will remember the most.

By including the race of the male in initial reports when the suspect is white, the media creates a false bias claim that there is an association between white males and gun violence.

By excluding the race of the male in initial reports where the suspect is Black or Hispanic, the media creates a false bias claim that there is no association between the race of the attackers and the crime.

When actual mathematics are taken into account, this bias in perception the media is trying to create is actually demonizing the lowest male demographic committing homicides per capita, which are white males while helping protect the identity of the most likely per capita homicide suspect.. black males.

The relationship between the woman killed in Ladera Ranch and the gunman was not clear, Amormino said. At least one other person was inside the home on Red Leaf Lane when the shooting occurred.
Property records show the home is owned by Irfan and Sarwat Syed, who bought it in 2008.
A woman with the same name, Sarwat Syed, was arrested in Aug. 2011 on suspicion of hitting a 4-year-old girl with a Yukon Denali and fleeing the scene. She was scheduled to appear in court Feb. 25.

The next news conference has been scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday, where authorities hope to have more information on the victims as well as the identity and background of the suspect. Authorities have confirmed that no children were involved in the shootings.

You just told people to commit a felony if they don't have a gun permit.
