    My email fron Newt

    Thank you for the thoughtful feedback on immigration and how to secure our national borders.

    Newt believes that no serious nation in the age of terror can afford to have wide-open borders with millions of illegal aliens crossing at will.

    The American people know this; but Washington is dramatically out of touch. The effort to grant amnesty to people in the country illegally is seriously misguided. By rewarding people who break our immigration laws, it would only encourage more illegal immigration, not stop it.

    Newt believes America must develop a comprehensive temporary worker program that uses our best technology to keep track of everyone who enters the United States to work; but it also must reflect the fundamental American belief in the rule of law.

    Here are the principles of Newt’s 21st century, American temporary worker program:

    No amnesty. A 21st century, American temporary guest worker program must not grant amnesty to those already in the United States illegally. Any foreigner already in the country illegally is welcome to apply; but they must return to their home country and wait in line with everyone else;

    Obey the law. All potential temporary workers wishing to work in America must be required to sign a contract saying they will pay taxes and obey the law. Breaking this agreement would result in being removed from the U.S. within 72 hours;

    No criminals. All countries that wish their citizens to participate in the program must provide the United States with a continually updated list of their felons so that it can be screened against those applying;

    Hold American business accountable. All temporary workers will be issued and must carry at all times an identification card with a biometric identifier, such as a photograph, thumb scan, retina scan, and serial number; Once this program is established, any business caught employing a guest worker who is not in the program will be fined severely;
    Do not vote for Party this year, vote for America and American workers!

    Now why isnt this being considered in Congress? His plan seems like an iron clad plan to me. Secure the borders, and deport all illegals. Im still against any guest worker program that doesnt give American citizens preference over jobs before they even consider a non citizen. But I have to say his plan is the best one I have seen so far.

    Dear I think your Stupid Citizen.

    Thank you for contacting me regarding illegal immigration. I agree that
    illegal immigration is a very serious problem and appreciate knowing your
    views.

    Currently, there are approximately 11 million undocumented immigrants in
    the United States, with close to 1 million more arriving every year. Yet,
    our current immigration system is broken. It is a system that is not good
    for American security, particularly during our fight to combat
    international terrorism. It is not good for American workers and
    businesses. And, it is not good for the immigrants, themselves.

    To tackle this problem, we must have a comprehensive immigration plan that
    toughens our borders, documents illegal immigrants, and provides for
    American labor needs. On March 28, 2006, the Senate Judiciary Committee,
    of which I am a member, passed immigration legislation out of Committee.
    The legislation is the first step toward comprehensive immigration reform.
    I voted in favor of the bill, which would secure our southern border by
    providing for an additional 12,000 border patrol agents, increased use of
    technology, and a fence along portions of the border. The bill also
    includes a guest worker program limited to approximately 400,000 people
    per year and a way to document and provide legal status for immigrants
    already here.

    Again, thank you for contacting me. If you have any additional concerns,
    please feel free to contact me anytime.

    Very respectfully yours,
    MIKE DeWINE
    United States Senator

    Whenever you hear politicians use the words REFORM and COMPREHENSIVE, it means only one thing and thats AMNESTY. Why dont they just get a backbone and tell us what they really mean?
