AFTER MOLLIE TIBBETTS'S MURDER, TEENAGER KIDNAP ATTEMPT IN ALABAMA, ALLEGEDLY BY ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT, TURNS UP GOP HEAT

Just one day after a 24-year-old unauthorized immigrant was arrested for the murder of Mollie Tibbetts in Iowa last week, a teenage girl in Alabama was allegedly pulled by her hair from a school bus stop toward the car of an undocumented immigrant in a kidnapping attempt, intensifying a GOP legislator’s calls for a border wall and tougher immigration laws.
Rep. Mo Brooks (R-Huntsville) said it was “tragic and infuriating” that Jasper, Alabama, citizens have been the “victims of illegal alien crime only days after Mollie Tibbetts was brutally murdered in Iowa.”
Brooks was referring to the attempted kidnapping and enticement of a child that happened in a Jasper park, resulting in the arrest of 22-year-old Bernardo Castro-Gabriel, an undocumented immigrant from Guatemala. Castro-Gabriel was charged last week with trying to kidnap a teenage girl from a local town park in the middle of the day, allegedly pulling the her by her hair toward his car before she managed to get away. He had allegedly tried to lure two teenage girls from the Jasper bus stop.
“The attacked described by Jasper Police Chief J.C. Poe was brazen and in the middle of the day,” ABC 3340 reported. “He says Gabriel dragged the victim by her hair and was inches away from successfully forcing the woman into his car at Gamble Park. The woman was able to break away in the struggle and find someone to call 911, according to Poe."
Castro-Gabriel was being held Friday on a $1 million, all-cash bond in a jail in Walker County, Alabama. He was also placed on an immigration hold by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, according to ABC 3340.
Rep. Brooks had strongly condemned Democrats’ open borders policies after Tibbetts’s body was found, and 20-year-old Cristhian Bahena Rivera, a farmworker allegedly unauthorized in the U.S., was arrested and charged with murder. Rep. Brooks said America’s open borders caused the murder of yet another American citizen, and that “America’s death toll from illegal alien murders, vehicular homicides, and drug overdoses rises as Democrats shamefully turn a blind eye to the carnage wrought as they clamor for open borders and even more illegal alien amnesty.”
After the attempted kidnapping in Jasper, Rep. Brooks said that case and the Tibbetts murder are warning signs for America—and for Democrats.
“The attempted kidnap of American citizens by an illegal alien from Guatemala highlights our country’s desperate need for the border wall and stronger border enforcement,” Brooks said in a press release, according to Yellowhammernews.com of Alabama.
He continued, “Far too many Americans have suffered at the hands of illegal aliens who never should have been here. These crimes are entirely avoidable with stronger border enforcement, but instead of working to keep Americans safe by eliminating illegal immigration Democrats and open borders advocates shamefully seek to abolish ICE and obstruct Republican attempts to stop the flow of illegal aliens across our border.
"The callousness displayed by Democrats in light of these horrific crimes against American citizens is appalling and shows Democrats value illegal aliens above American citizens.”
President Donald Trump, a Republican, also blamed Tibbetts's death on Democrats and weak immigration policies.
"Democrat immigration policies are destroying innocent lives and spilling very innocent blood," Trump said, speaking in Ohio last week. "We believe that any party that puts criminal aliens before American citizens should be out of office, not into office."
