On Tuesday, the Congressional Progressive Caucus held a hearing on the “humanitarian crisis” of unaccompanied minors coming into our country. A 15-year-old who illegally entered the US from El Salvador spoke at the hearing to accuse the US border patrol of having “mistreated him” at one of the holding centers.

His complaint? That he was only given a “cold ham sandwich twice a day” and it was “not enough food.” His other accusations of abuse were that he was given only a nylon blanket to cover up with, no privacy in the bathrooms, and the lights were left on.“I felt very mistreated. My time in the ice boxes was the worst time of my life. Please don’t mistreat children the way your government has mistreated me, he said.
As an American citizen, there are certain rights that we are all provided. Among these are “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.” Our Constitution provides no right to sandwiches, privacy in bathrooms, or an obligation for the government to provide shelter to anyone.
Being that this person is not even an American citizen, but entered this country ILLEGALLY, where does he get off claiming that we OWE him ANYTHING? I’m not sure where these illegals are getting the impression that our government is obligated to provide for them, but it looks like we have some great candidates for future whiny liberals.
