    The Coming US/Mexico War

    The Coming US/Mexico War

At some point in the near future, the US will be forced to invade Mexico – again!

There is a war going on in Mexico and the Mexican government has shown no capability of containing or winning the bloody conflict.

Mexico today resembles more a wartime Vietnam than it does a country at peace. That is because there is no peace in Mexico.

The US cannot continue to look the other way and pretend that the Mexican government can control the violence wrought by drug cartels, drug gangs, and just plain ole “outlaws.â€

The U.S. does not need to invade Mexico to secure the border. We can do this by finishing the fence as specified in the Secure Fence Act of 2006. In addition, we should instrument the border to show where it is being crossed. This is simple technical matter. Once that is done, we can augment the fence infrastructure with resources, including quick reaction teams, to set whatever level of security we need.

We do not need perfection. We can reduce drug smuggling to such a low level that it will put the cartels out of business.

We would never invade Mexico without its approval. Mexico would agree to a military intervention only after we met certain conditions - conditions that would advance their overall goal - the occupation of the Southwest to place it under its jurisdiction.

Mexico is already at war with us...what else would you call millions of their civilian soldiers violating our borders, marching down our streets, demanding rights and privileges while waiving their beloved rag of mexico, while their own government looks on and encourages this behavior, to the impotence of our own government.

Hopefully, our own government will get in the fight before it's too late. It would also help if those who are aiding the enemy were tossed out of office.

Mexico is not our friend. Our nation is being invaded and colonized by Mexican nationals with the encouragement of the Mexican government.

This alone is bad enough, but the recent events citied in the beginning of this thread bring to mind the Roosevelt Corollary to the Monroe Doctrine issued by Theodore Roosevelt:

It is not true that the United States feels any land hunger or entertains any projects as regards the other nations of the Western Hemisphere save such as are for their welfare. All that this country desires is to see the neighboring countries stable, orderly, and prosperous. Any country whose people conduct themselves well can count upon our hearty friendship. If a nation shows that it knows how to act with reasonable efficiency and decency in social and political matters, if it keeps order and pays its obligations, it need fear no interference from the United States. Chronic wrongdoing, or an impotence which results in a general loosening of the ties of civilized society, may in America, as elsewhere, ultimately require intervention by some civilized nation, and in the Western Hemisphere the adherence of the United States to the Monroe Doctrine may force the United States, however reluctantly, in flagrant cases of such wrongdoing or impotence, to the exercise of an international police power.
We should not have thousands and thousands of our troops stationed all over the world. We should bring them home and protect our own nation from the agression and violence being perpetrated by Mexico upon us!!

"It is only a matter of time before there are armed clashes between Mexican citizens and American citizens along the border."

Only a matter of time???????? They already come up on these AZ ranchers land, trampling it while carrying guns and killing any rancher who gets in their way. In Douglas and Nogales, the citizens do not go out at night for fear of their lives!

That was cool TS! All's fair in love and WAR.
It sure seems fighting a war here would be a hell of lot cheaper then over seas. We sure stepped in it this time didn't we?

The terrorists and other enemies of the U. S. would like nothing better than for the U. S. to go to war with Mexico. That would take at least some of the pressure off them. But the U. S. doesn't need another war. It just needs to enforce the immigration laws and finish the fence and properly man it.
