Hopefully the good people don't lose their church over the actions of some physco.

A few folks have mentioned that going to jail may be a deterrent to any large-scale actions taken to get the government to take notice (like a tax revolt, etc). Eventually some of us are going to have to count the cost and decide exactly how strong we're willing to stand for our beliefs.

When I was young, my parents had a very strong belief against a legal activity. They took a stand and knew that they would accept the legal consequences. I saw my chubby, gentle, soft-spoken little mom handcuffed and fingerprinted several times when she was arrested for civil disobedience. But she took a stand when louder, angrier, and more radical people didn't have the balls. That was a serious life lesson for me.

I love this country more than anything and know that to preserve it, I will have to take a stand that will cost me. When that time comes, I hope that I have the courage and resourcefulness of our Forefathers.

Here's a few quotations you might find encouraging:

Each man must for himself alone decide what is right and what is wrong, which course is patriotic and which isn't. You cannot shirk this and be a man. To decide against your conviction is to be an unqualified and excusable traitor, both to yourself and to your country, let men label you as they may. ~Mark Twain

When leaders act contrary to conscience, we must act contrary to leaders.

As long as the world shall last there will be wrongs, and if no man objected and no man rebelled, those wrongs would last forever. ~Clarence Darrow

Those whose conscience demands that they defy authority in some ways that involve great consequences must be willing to accept some penalty. ~Joseph Wood Krutch

It is dangerous to be right in matters on which the established authorities are wrong. ~Voltaire

    Conviction without action is worthless

    impeachment, terrorist attack or both

I think there are a couple of possible things we will see. A terrorist attack, possible impeachment or both. It is just common sense to guard the mexican u.s. border especially after they find out that those terrorists from the 911 attack were able to get in here through mexico. We now see that the coyotes will sell their own mother to make a buck, what would make us think they would not sell anything to or smuggle terrorists in the united states for any amount of money. Do you guys realize that other countries laugh at us. IF they dont laugh at us, they hate us. I get asked all the time when ever I go to Chile for vacation with family, why we the people of the U.S.A. put up with George Bush. I always tell them, "dont look at me, I did not vote for the guy".

"dont look at me, I did not vote for the guy".

I did, sonali. The other choice, the treasonous John Kerry, was so unthinkable that there really was no other choice.

But I am severely disappointed by Bush's betrayal of my most closely held ideals: the sovereignty and security of America. I voted for him because he stood tough on terrorism, and I truly believed that would make our country safer. It never occured to me that he would so blatantly ignore our borders - it just doesn't fit the persona!

But I don't waste time in regrets. I'm pitching in to fight Bush and any/all politicians who sell out our security and marginalize our sovereignty.

Bush is gone is 3 years. Good riddance. It's now up to us to raise up a leader who validates our concerns and will boldly correct the mistakes of the past. America's future depends on it.

On May 2nd of 2005, Karl Schwarz announced his candidacy for the President... In some ways, he's like George Bush, in that he's a conservative Christian who has been a CEO of several companies and comes from the South... Also, he's been a Republican for most of the last 20 years, but as a result of Bush (as well as Democratic leaders), he has decided to work on creating a 3rd party.

He makes some provocative criticisms - some which you may disagree with (especially as they relate to Iraq), but others are similar to what's been said here... Anyway, I think he has some interesting things to say.
    2005 ACTION PLAN - Jan 2nd, 2005
The bottom line is simply this: regardless of political ideology - if one is not part of the wealthy elite inner circle of Washington, DC we have NO government representative of the majority of this nation.
If you want a future of only being a "cash crop" to the Wealthy Elite, go ahead and sit on your butt. Stay tuned to CNN and FOXNews and pretend you are not sliding backwards in life. If you want a future of being hopelessly trapped like a hamster on the wheel, no "American Dream" in sight, go ahead and sit on your butt. If you want to sit idly by as Social Security is privatized and they leave open the loopholes so that the Financial Terrorists can steal your "safety net", go right ahead and sit on your butt and play keyboard quarterback.

Remember what Franklin Roosevelt said - "we have nothing to fear but fear itself." That is exactly where we are right now - live in fear or stand up in mass. This time the enemy is not from without, it is from within. The terrorists are inside of our gates, inside of our government. We have met them and the enemy is us. That changes when critical mass rejecting such happens and that critical mass will not happen until enough Americans set aside their pettiness (or apathy or indifference) and get active.
The question is - do we really want change? Do we really want better government? If so, that will take serious capital, effort and commitment to purpose to work together to change the fabric of this nation before they have enough inertia that we cannot change it back at all or without having to resort to armed conflict as they did in 1776.
Afghanistan Oil Pipeline - Basis Of 9-11 Hidden Agenda
SCHWARZ: Yeah, and now, thanks to George Bush, I’m an independent. I mean, I have completely pulled out of the RNC. They are not representative of what I consider the majority of the values of the people of this nation. In fact I can talk to you for hours about why I view the “Contract with America was a contract on America. I think they have done a masterful job of packaging it and selling it. They’ve got to keep it simple. They’ve got to keep it down to quote “moral issues and “lower taxes.
......But at the same time, (the RNC) is fundamentally a sellout to big corporatization of our government. And I don’t agree with that because corporatization of our government is teetering right on the edges of fascism. And I think if you look at the Bush administration, you’ll see a lot of elements of fascism, intolerance, shouting people down, stomping people down, and justifications of any type of wacky policies.
It is literally a form of organized crime that is being condoned, sponsored, and aided by our government. I mean, I’m the kind of guy, 53 years old, that thinks everybody has the right to the American Dream. These people don’t want it that way. They get the American Dream. You get the shaft. And what they’ve done is spend years and millions of dollars, power lunches, and policy changes to try to turn everything over to where antitrust doesn’t matter anymore, ultimate corporate power is where it’s headed, and the rest of us are just a cash crop. We’ve got a government that is aiding and abetting every step of the way, even to the point of changing the laws so you and I don’t have a defense against it.
I think it’s time that people got aware of what the hell is really going on. They don’t have any “construction crews in Iraq. That money was for privatizing the Iraqi assets in the hands of Bush’s backers and that money is going to do rehab work on those assets so that they can have pristine new assets. In other words, Bush’s “Pioneers are going to own Iraq’s northern electric grid, for instance. That money is not going into reconstruction to benefit Iraqis. It’s going to benefit Bush’s buddies who are going to own all the resources: the oil and gas companies, the refineries, the oil fields, the electrical generation plants, the water supply, the cable systems, the wireless systems ... They are basically over there nationalizing Iraq as the 51st state.
..... Turn it around. Okay, you’re in Texas, right? What would you do if the Iraqis, the Venezuelans, or even the Mexicans came charging into Crawford, Texas, and took over your entire infrastructure, and they were your new overlords? Would you fight back? What if they came out to your house and threw you out of your house because one of their buddies liked your house? Would you fight back? There’s a difference between a terrorist insurgence and a patriot that says, “Get out of my home.

Personally, I think that as far as the issues of the Middle East, I think he did pretty good. I also felt he did pretty ood at handling having a double whammy of a recession and 9/11 hitting our economy. I supported him in the both elections... not so much because I thought he was all that great.. but because there were no better alternatives, in my opinion.

I have always been a very strong republican supporter, though I have crossed party lines on a few state and local candidates.

But I am PISSED OFF about how immigration is being dealt with. The rest of the republican party better be paying some attention if they wish to retain control of congress... because when guys like ME start bailing out on them.. they got serious problems. I may not be able to bring myself to vote for some of the liberal pinheads I see out there.. but I CAN take my vote and go home.

Sorry I have to pick this apart. If our president would have closed down our borders and strictly enforced our immigration laws instead of red taping our BP agents and our law enforcement agencies to death then 9-11 would have never happened. Don't give me this oh Bush didn't know because I don't buy it. The guy had ample warning and did nothing.

His war with Afghanistan was good, I'll give you that, but the war with Iraq was/is aweful and proven to be unnecessary. I will always support the troops no matter what, I'll never bad mouth them and I feel sorry for them, but they shouldn't be in Iraq in the first place, they should be on our borders. I initially supported the Iraq war and even though alot of the reasoning behind it was bogus I would have still supported it if we would secure our own borders first and untied the hands of our troops and allowed them to take care of business, but since Bush is a coward and is afraid of the leftwing media and the ACLU it won't happen. Bush sold us on the bag of garbage that freeing Iraq would have led the Middle East into a new era of Democracy, instead he's going to end up Supersizing Iran. Why? Because Iraq is dominated by Shiites, oh so is Iran. The newly elected leader of Iraq is a stooge for the Ayatollah of Iran. The overwhelming majority that voted in Iraq's elections were Shiites. Almost all of the terrorists/insurgents attacking our troops are Shiites from Iran. You do the math.

This talk about Bush handling a recession well. HUH? We still are in a recession. Our debts are through the roof and millions of Americans are jobless and thousands more are losing jobs by the day. The value of our dollar is collapsing and the wages for various jobs are being driven into the dirt. The guy is spending like a drunken sailor with our money. Don't be fooled by what you see in the stock market. That doesn't tell you the whole story. A few businesses are benefitting from Jorge Bush's policies, but we are getting raked through the coals as a country. You think this is bad, just wait until Jorge gets CAFTA pushed through. We'll have a few million more welfare recipients on the rolls after millions more jobs get sent overseas to appease Jorge's big business cronies. You think illegal immigration is bad now, wait until CAFTA goes through. Only now will be getting millions of central American illegals on top of the millions of Mexican illegals we get now. You hear that giant sucking sound? That's your wallet being sucked out of your pocket. Maybe you still think Bush is doing a good job after he takes another billion out of your wallet to go pay for illegal alien health care, maybe he'll need it for another tsunami in Asia, maybe he'll need to fund another presription drug bill or another No Child Left Behind policy. Who knows with this clown.

Why all this? Because Jorge knows he can't get amnesty pushed through the public because it's so unpopular so now he's going to start digging into your wallet for illegal alien benefits, more entitlement programs and he will take your job and shift it overseas to Mexico, Canada, China, Central America because he doesn't think a well off American ignoramous deserves to have a job in his own country. He will say that you aren't good enough to do the same job that a foreigner could do for cheaper. Jorge will sell you out and people like you will say and do nothing because you'll buy into the kool aide that the Republicans will force you to drink and you'll drink and think nothing of it.

Wake up man, you've been sold out on a bag of garbage. Bush is no better than any Democrat that's held office. You voted for Bush to stay away from the likes of Clinton/Gore and Kerry. Well guess what? You've been bamboozeled because you ended up getting Clinton/Gore and Kerry all rolled into one with an R in front of his name anyway. That's how it works. You vote for a Democrat and you get a Republican, you vote for a Republican and you get a Democrat. You vote for Bush you end up getting Kerry. Only problem is with Kerry if he wanted amnesty for illegals or CAFTA, aint happening because the Republicans would have fought him tooth and nail over it, Bush wants it and the Republicans bend over and play follow the leader.

So go ahead and vote for the Bush's of the world thinking there's no other alternative because they are all one and the same. Oh wait you did have an alternative and his name was Michael Peroutka of the Constitution party (the person I voted for). He was the only candidate that wanted our borders closed, our laws enforced and wanted to strictly follow the constitution, but you would not have known that since all your led to believe is that it's all about Republicans vs Democrats. They are all playing you for a fool and the jokes on you and America. They make you think that there's a big difference between both parties when they are all one and the same.

You'll probably tell me that not voting for a Republican or a Democrat is a wasted vote. Then I ask you isn't your vote being wasted anyway? Neither party is representing your interest no matter what and both parties are one and the same so what does it matter that you vote for either party? No matter what party you vote for they are going to end up stabbing you in the back anyway. So why not vote for a third party like the Constitution party and go with your conscience instead of electability. Maybe if millions would follow my lead then maybe just maybe we can get a viable third party to rise in power and scare the living hell out of the oligarchy known as the Republicans and Democrats.

That's what you got, a socialist oligarchy whether you want to admit it or not. Come on we can't close our borders because of supposed lack of funds, but yet the government can spend trillions of your dollars on tens of thousands of useless activities, most of which are beyond unconstitutional. Wake up America, that's all I got to say. Jorge Bush is a traitor and by far the worst president in US history, even worst then Clinton which is saying an aweful lot.

Dman has it essentially right. What I want ot know is how many of you are going to continue to vote for Republicans and Democrats who do not support Tancredo and are for any form of amnesty/guest worker whatever you want to call forgiving a bunch of invaders and the corrupt employers of invaders.

Are we once agin going to hear the two party system whine: ...."well I can't vote for a Democrat"....cripes let us see the Republican party has essentially wiped its rear on the Constitution and your President certainly has. Not that the Dems would be any better...clearly it is time for third party that puts this country first, and a real third party built up the correct way...ahhh what is the use...

Waiting for the next Pat Buchanan (who will be coming soon)

I switched from a life-long Democrat to vote for Pat Buchanan when he ran against Bush Senior in the Republican primaries of 1992. And I'll support any candidate who takes a STRONG position on illegal immigration. I'm not talking about the mouthy platitudes of a Hillary Clinton -- who, like a lot of politicos, is positioning herself as anti-illegal immigration (only because she knows its a popular position) -- but who did NOTHING while Bill and her were in office to stem the hordes of alien invaders.
