Dear XXXX,
Thank you for your message concerning immigration. I appreciate hearing from you and welcome the opportunity to respond.
I recognize your concerns about President Biden’s immigration proposals, and I agree that we need smarter border security. However, I strongly believe that, as a nation of immigrants, we draw strength from people who journeyed to our shores from around the world. That is why I support the creation of a pathway to citizenship for hardworking undocumented immigrants who have spent their lives contributing to their communities and to our country.
I believe we must welcome those seeking better opportunities for themselves and their families with fairness, respect, and compassion. Foreign workers are essential to countless industries in the United States as well as to a range of businesses here in the Research Triangle. Our Wake County community would not be as prosperous as it is today without the contributions of immigrants.
Unfortunately, our dysfunctional immigration laws and policies continue to tear families apart and hold American companies back. For the sake of our economy and our national security, we must come together on a bipartisan basis to comprehensively reform our broken immigration system.
Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts with me. Please do not hesitate to reach out should you have any more questions or concerns. I also encourage you to regularly visit my website at http://ross.house.gov, where you can find information on my work on behalf of our community and sign up for my e-newsletter.
Very truly yours,
