Four times in U.S. history, the winner of the nationwide popular vote has lost the Electoral College and the general election. But a proposal called the “The National Popular Vote Interstate Compact” would automatically allocate participating state’s Electoral College votes to whoever wins the national popular vote. Hari Sreenivasan reports.

The electoral college is outdated. The reason we have it was when people weren't easily informed and some crook might worm their way into the White House with citizens unaware. Today, everyone knows who the crook is trying to worm her way back into the White House.

We'll see what happens. Who knows, the system might still work, we won't know until after Tuesday whether the Constitution needs to be amended in some fashion to address this. My feeling is leave it all alone, win the election and keep the crook out of the White with both the popular vote and the electoral college.

I would like the Popular Vote to determine the election.

No more electoral vote, it is outdated and should be terminated. The handful of electoral voters in each State have too much power to go against the WILL of the people.

No more early voting, or make it 2 days in a row to vote.

Absolutely not. The electoral college protects statehood and the federation. It prevents areas of high population density from governing areas of low population density. We are a federation of states. The future is cellular/national/federal not imperial. No to Bolshevism!

California has 55 electoral votes. California is a Democrat State and has many Sanctuary Cities, Illegal Aliens and Liberal policies leaning heavily left.

How is this State's 55 electoral votes fair for the rest of the Country with fewer Electoral Votes and opposite views? It should be One Person, One Vote as One Nation.

Then why vote at all if the Electoral votes determine the winner against the Will of the people.

How does a state earn electoral votes? If California has more electoral votes than other states and can earn electoral votes by increasing population, then this facility takes your point of view. It undermines the whole purpose of the electoral college. You must win states to earn the presidency, not the most votes nationally. This is best.

By the total population per district. Population is counted from the US Census Bureau and includes total number of people residing in
district. Not just US Citizens, A.K.A. Eligible Voters.

This is how the DemoRATS cheat and steal elections. They flood districts with illegal aliens and steal the votes from US Citizens

Which is why I disagree that you must win States to EARN the Presidency! Because it is rigged. You should EARN the Presidency by the most votes Nationally. We are ONE NATION, Legal Citizens as a Whole...One Person...One Vote!

We have the right to choose which State we live in, can move anytime, anywhere...why should MY vote not count if I lived in California because it is RIGGED with 55 Electoral Votes and swarming with illegals? Look at Texas, I think it is 38 Electoral Votes...same thing happening! Not fair.

Get rid of the "Blue and Red States Map" and these Electoral Votes...creating more division and hate in this Country. It is outdated, it does not apply anymore and now an open festering wound of corruption.

Terminate the corrupt Electoral Votes because they have figured out how to rig the system and stacked the odds against the Republicans in smaller States with less Electoral Votes by changing the demographics!!! BINGO...30 million illegals and thousands and thousands of asylum and refugees. Not to mention the "Anchor Baby" debacle! No such thing as an anchor baby, 14th Amendment was never intended for this.
