Armed Services Chair Exposes Obama’s TREASON… We Are ALL In Danger

In a stunning rebuke to the Obama administration’s plan to fight the Islamic State group, the chairman of the House Armed Services Committee called it “unsettling” and said it failed to address even the most basic concerns regarding the war against the group.

In his Thursday statement, Rep. Mac Thornberry, R-Texas,
noted that even though the document contained just seven pages, it was delivered five weeks late by the Obama administration.

The report, “Strategy for the Middle East and to Counter Violent Extremism,” was supposed to be released on Feb. 15, as mandated by Section 1222 of the National Defense Authorization Act.

“As we have unfortunately come to expect from this administration, the seven page document fails to provide much new information and fails to address all the elements required by law, such as identifying which groups must be engaged to counter violent extremism,” Thornberry’s statement read.

“It is unsettling to know that this report may reflect the actual depth of strategic thought within the Administration on how to face this grave threat.”

Rep. Thornberry also criticized the White House for delivering the document after Secretary of Defense Ash Carter testified before Congress.

“It is also unfortunate that the White House chose to submit this document just after Secretary Carter testified before the Armed Services Committees so that he could not be questioned about it,” he said.

“It is another missed opportunity to build public and congressional support for and confidence in their efforts against terrorism. It is unsettling to know that this report may reflect the actual depth of strategic thought within the administration on how to face this grave threat.”

Thornberry has been repeatedly critical of the Obama administration’s policy on the Islamic State group. In this 2015 interview, he explained that he believed the United States wasn’t winning against the terrorist organization.

It’s wholly inconceivable that, after being given massive amount of time to submit a congressionally required report on how they plan to defeat the Islamic State group, they delivered a seven-page document five weeks late.

That’s 1.4 pages for every week late. At only seven pages, I’ve written longer papers in one night for my 6th grade social studies class. Not only that, I bet they were better.

The inattention to the Islamic State group — and to the congressional committees practicing oversight on on it — that the Obama administration is engaging in is tantamount to treason. Just this week, two Americans died in the attack on Brussels carried out by terrorists connected to the Islamic State group.

Even if it were just those two — and it hasn’t been — those two Americans deserved better than seven pages. Their families deserved better than seven pages. All of America deserves better than seven pages.
