Rep. Watson Is For Protecting The English Language And Our Safety
    posted January 7, 2011

As a naturalized American citizen, I had the honor and privilege to work with Rep. Eric Watson during the 106th General Assembly to pass HB 262.

This legislation would have made the TN driver's license exam be administered in English for public safety, to save taxpayer dollars and to encourage all legal immigrants to learn English.

Unfortunately, many members in both chambers felt that accommodating immigrants was better than protecting the language that makes our country function and the language that would have ensured all motorists can effectively communicate with one another and with emergency personnel. From the November elections, we saw what that position of accommodating and putting motorists at great risk did to those members; they were defeated.

Democrats and some Republicans were led down the ill-fated path paved with erroneous information and voted to suppress the English language, to deter or impede safety, and to keep spending thousands of taxpayer dollars to fund multiple languages on the driver's license exam.

It takes courage, tenacity and foresight to get our country back on track. To me, our security and safety supersedes making too easy the process to obtain a driver's license.

Eric Watson possesses the characteristics that make a political leader for the people. In a professional and direct way, Eric Watson exudes the statesman "leadership" qualities that voters in House district 22 deserve, and the voters demonstrated that quality of leadership and confidence by returning Rep. Watson to the House of Representatives.

We all know that it is not the color of one's skin that matters to lead. What does matter for our country, for our state is an elected official who will not succumb to organizations or groups who continue to dilute our American values, dilute our history, dilute our heritage and place the English language in second place.

Americans come in many political flavors (Democrat, Republican, Libertarian, Tea Party, etc), but for our country to get back on track, we need political leaders who will stand up to curtail illegal immigration, who will stand up and stop wasting taxpayer dollars when public school teachers are being laid off, when American workers are losing their jobs, and a leader who will stand up to ensure all legal immigrants take responsibility and learn English.

Witnessing Rep. Eric Watson during the 106th General Assembly assured me that returning Eric Watson to the 107th Assembly will continue the work, dedication and attention to issues that affect the daily lives of Americans who reside in House district 22 and as a Tennessean, I am grateful the voters did so.

I personally saw tactics working behind the scenes offering unsubstantiated comments to gather the votes that killed and suppressed our English language and public safety.

For a fact, I know that Eric Watson wasn't fooled and won't be fooled with that poor exhibition of persuasive methods employed by some members during the upcoming legislative session.

If you believe in the red, white and blue, if you believe in our brave men and women who gave their lives for our country and those who are risking their lives every day for our freedom, for our liberties and for our English language that makes up America, then assist Rep. Watson during the 107th General Assembly by urging House and Senate members to vote for the English driver's license legislation.

I have always believed that ALL business should be conducted In english In the United States. All of the bi-lingual programs that have proliferated through the years have only made Illegal Immigration worse. Immigrants, whether legal or Illegal have no Incentive to learn our language when we continue to cater to theirs.... TS

While I believe it's beneficial for businesses use English I think that all public sector services should be conducted in English.

The private sector should be left to its own due to my belief in private-property rights. Despite this, most businesses that refuse to conduct business in English will likely face financial problems and social alienation.

The problem as I see it is that we have FAR to many people in this country that SHOULDN'T be here.

This shouldn't even be up for debate , The fact that it is speaks volumes about the quantity of illegal aliens that are in this country
