As part of our mission to increase the Latino presence in our nation’s media, NCLR has worked for several months to ensure that the proposed alliance between Comcast and NBCU includes a focus on creating a richer, more diverse media landscape with more opportunities for Hispanic voices and Hispanic businesses.
This past summer, NCLR was part of a coalition of leading national Hispanic organizations which negotiated a Memorandum of Understanding (“MOUâ€

    Excellent question.

Their goal is to inject a Hispanic "voice" into areas where they could wield power. Of course, that hispanic voice must match La Raza's goals and agenda. They seem to think that hispanic opinions that do not match their own are not valid. What an insult to hipanics with "other" opinions!

La Raza and its affiliates, all around our country, are organized in a such a way that it is almost impossible not to ask what is the real purpose. What you have as a long view to one day tip thsi country over to become like Canada. It is so obvious I dont understand why this is not debated. Why Spanish everywhere, why not Hindi, Cantonese, Viernamese etc? I appreciate the fact that Hispanics immigrants are the overwhleming majority of immigrants like 50% of green card holders (why by the way?) or over 80% of illegals (that's easy to understand). And sure we want to make them more comfortable but it has and is going too far far too far. Hispanic marketing is concerning itself on pure ethnicity, if you are Hispanic then you are entitled to Spanish. What? Why? What is this?

Well this is simple and needs to be addressed. La Raza, with the help of pandering politicians, misplaced compassion and political correctness are trying to recast the United States into a new Latin American country of sorts. Teh long view is obvious, Spanish used on teh floor of congress, no less. This is going to end in tears if we don't address this in a civil way of course. This ethnic nonsense needs to stop and all immigrants have to decide if they want to live in the United States, where is one language and yes an American culture because, what a novel idea, we are a country, we are a people and no we are NOT teh United Nations!

I want to know who else. I don't do business with these 2 companies and will not change to Comcast specifically to prevent them from further enrichment and influence as long as they commit to this.

The truth of the matter is that Hispanics are unfairly represented in the hiring practices for many fields, and have a lower unemployment rate especially in low education employment. This should be addressed but will not be.

If you have Comcast DUMP IT NOW and it is time to end Affirmative Action which is giving jobs to new immigrants mostly Hispanics and that was never the intent of the program.

Affirmative Action of the 1960's was established to assure equal job opportunity to all citizens including blacks & women. It is now being used for new immigrants over long term citizens whose families helped build this country.

In the past, immigrants were expected to have to work their way up - which they did.

Affirmative action is only justified when there is clear evidence of discrimination. The agreement with Comcast is an unjustified quota system. Because there is a fixed number of available jobs, creating preferences for Hispanics will require discriminating against everyone else.
