Jeff Sessions has been a huge disappointment to me. All that talk and beautiful speeches and when he is in a position to actually do something about it, he does very little if anything at all.

Just curious. In your opinion what is it you think he's not doing? Personally, I think he's been extremely busy, but I am sincerely interested in your opinion on this.

Sessions, unlike past attorneys general, has been especially aggressive on immigration. He served as the public face of the administration’s rolling back of a program that granted a reprieve from deportation to people who had come here without documentation as children, and he directed federal prosecutors to make illegal-immigration cases a higher priority. The attorney general has long held the view that the United States should even reduce the number of those immigrating here legally.

In an interview with Breitbart News in 2015, then-Sen. Sessions, R-Ala., spoke favorably of a 1924 law that excluded all immigrants from Asia and set strict caps on others.

“When the numbers reached about this high in 1924, the president and Congress changed the policy and it slowed down immigration significantly,” Sessions said. “We then assimilated through 1965 and created really the solid middle class of America, with assimilated immigrants, and it was good for America.”

Vanita Gupta, head of the Justice Department’s civil-rights division in the Obama administration who now works as chief executive of the Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights, said Sessions seems to harbor an “unwillingness to recognize the history of this country is rooted in immigration.”

“On issue after issue, it’s very easy to see what his worldview is of what this country is and who belongs in this country,” she said, adding that his view is “distinctly anti-immigrant.”

Others, however, say they welcome the changes Sessions has made at the Justice Department.

Jessica Vaughan, director of policy studies for the Center for Immigration Studies, which advocates for moderating levels of immigration, said she would give the attorney general an “A-plus” for his work in the area, especially for his crackdown on “sanctuary cities,” his push to hire more immigration judges and his focus on the MS-13 gang.

“He was able to hit the ground running because he has so much expertise already in immigration enforcement and related public-safety issues and the constitutional issues, so he’s accomplished a lot in a very short time,” Vaughan said.

Prior, the Justice Department spokesman, said, “Clearly having an immigration system that focuses on national security and the national interest should be a matter of importance to the nation’s highest law-enforcement official.”

Federal judge says AG Jeff Sessions can’t withhold grant money from sanctuary cities

If he can't withhold the money can he arrest the Governor's, Mayor's, Sheriffs and Judges that are aiding, abetting and harboring illegal aliens...GO AFTER THEM and lock them up.

I would like to see them in the nastiest prison we have FULL of gang members and illegals!

These States that are issuing Driver's Licenses to ILLEGAL aliens...start issuing warrants for their arrests!

I have concerns over documents that have been under subpoena from Congress for years that are still being obscured for one, but I will not be dragged into a political debate over it.

As my Senator, Sessions has had no greater fan than myself. As Attorney General, I have cheered his successes but become disappointed when Obama era policies and personnel are still apparently in place in the DOJ and with Rob Rosenstein as the AAG.

Kim, 193 F.3d 567, 573 (2d Cir.1999).   The Supreme Court has noted that statutes may “overlap” or enjoy a “partial redundancy,” United States v. Batchelder, 442 U.S. 114, 118, 99 S.Ct. 2198, 2201, 60 L.Ed.2d 755 (1979), and yet be “fully capable of coexisting.”  Id. at 122, 99 S.Ct. at 2203.   We agree with the Second Circuit's analysis of §§ 1324 and 1324a that “nothing in the language of these two sections ․ preclude[s] their coexistence.”  Kim, 193 F.3d at 573.   The plain language of § 1324 does not limit its reach to certain specific individuals, and thus, the Government properly charged the Appellees with violating this statute."

It’s time for our Justice Department to grow a spine, and work to have arrest warrants issued and then send forth federal Marshals to sanctuary cities and arrest elected politicians and their accomplices for using their office of public trust to actively engage in a conspiracy to promote the harboring of illegal entrants.

It would end up at the Supreme Court to decide if that was legal or not.
