I have significantly upgraded my opinion of Jeh Johnson, President Obama's secretary of homeland security. Appearing Friday on Morning Joe, he was honest and blunt in addressing the border crisis, drawing on his own experience and implicitly rebuking the Democrats' talking point that this is a "manufactured crisis."
The one-minute video below is a classic of sorts, and well worth your time. Johnson was serious as he spoke these words (hat tip: Breitbart for the transcript):

"When I was in office in Kirstjen Nielsen's job at her desk, I'd get to work around 6:30 in the morning and there'd be my intelligence book sitting on my desk, the PDB, and also the apprehension numbers from the day before," Johnson revealed on MSNBC's "Morning Joe." "And I'd look at them every memory morning, it would be the first thing I'd look at, and I probably got too close to the problem.
"[M]y staff will tell you if it was under 1,000 apprehensions the day before, that was a relatively good number. And if it was above 1,000, it was a relatively bad number, and I was going to be in a bad mood the whole day. On Tuesday, there were 4,000 apprehensions. I know that a thousand overwhelms the system. I cannot begin to imagine what 4,000 a day looks like. So, we are truly in a crisis."

Former Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson said Saturday that America has a “crisis” at the southern border, and that the number of apprehensions exceed anything he encountered during his time serving under former President Barack Obama.

“By anyone’s definition, by any measure, right now we have a crisis at our southern border,” he said on “Cavuto LIVE.”
“According to the commissioner of [Customs and Border Protection], there were 4,000 apprehensions in one day alone this past week, and we’re on pace for 100,000 apprehensions on our southern border this month.”
“That is by far a greater number than anything I saw on my watch in my three years as Secretary of Homeland Security,” he said.

Johnson’s remarks come after President Trump this week accused Mexico of doing nothing to stop the illegal immigration flow to the U.S. and threatened to close to southern border next week.

....the Border, or large sections of the Border, next week. This would be so easy for Mexico to do, but they just take our money and “talk.” Besides, we lose so much money with them, especially when you add in drug trafficking etc.), that the Border closing would be a good thing!

All Fox News viewers already know this. I'd sure like to see Johnson go over to CNN or MSNBC and say the same thing. Of course that's not something the liberal cable networks would ever allow.

These foreigners are a NET LOSS to this country and cause American's a lot of damages to our person, property, the monetary theft, and they are draining our social services programs!

Close the whole border! Turn them away!

No DACA, deport them all including their UAC's, TPS, Refugees, Asylum liars, Visa overstays, and illegals!

We owe them nothing...they need to go home now and fix their own damn countries!

ENFORCE "PUBLIC CHARGE" LAWS...AUDIT THOSE WELFARE, FOOD STAMPS, MEDICAID AGENCIES AND TERMINATE THEM FROM THOSE BENEFITS! MAKE THEM SELF DEPORT!
