Secretary of State John Kerry was on Capitol Hill Thursday urging lawmakers to approve an economic aid package to Ukraine. After the hearing, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) told Kerry, "Hey John, good job. Let me know what I can do to help you with [House Speaker John] Boehner."
Graham did not know there was a hot microphone recording his conversation. Graham's actions sparked many reactions in the last few hours. A few of Graham's challengers, Nancy Mace and Bill Connor went to Facebook to criticize the South Carolina Senator:

Here's more evidence of Sen. Lindsey Graham working with Democrats. Americans would rather build up our own nation than spend money on foreign aid to another country.

Despite the fact that America cannot afford to bailout Ukraine, (the US is over $17 Trillion in debt) experts say that bailing out Ukraine will actually help Russia. According to NBC, $3 Billion will go to Russia. Alexander Gordin, managing director of Broad Street Capital, told CNBC that some of the money will likely be used to pay back Russian loans to Ukraine and to buy Russian natural gas. Ukraine buys 60 percent of its natural gas from Russia.
Ron Paul made recent comments on the dangers of being entangled with the Eastern Europe crisis:
"Congress next week will likely vote for sanctions against Russia. Though many mistakenly believe that sanctions are a relatively harmless way of forcing foreign countries to do what we say, we should be clear: sanctions are an act of war. Cooler heads in the United States are not currently prevailing. There is a danger of an unimaginable conflict between the U.S. and Russia. We must demand a shift away from a war footing, away from incendiary rhetoric. We are broke and cannot afford to "buy" Ukraine. We certainly cannot afford another war, especially with Russia!"Paul points out that this bailout money will not go to the impoverished of Ukraine. This bailout is merely a transfer of wealth from the American taxpayer to international bankers.
"The administration is sending a billion dollars from U.S. taxpayers to wealthy international bankers who hold Ukrainian debt," said Paul.
This recent gaffe is a reminder to Americans that there are elements in both Parties who are willing to work together to advance reckless military interventions at the expense of the American taxpayer and national security.
