Trump Cites 2010 Terrorism Case to Call for End of Visa Lottery

    Thursday, February 8, 2018 07:45 PM
    By: Todd Beamon

President Donald Trump on Thursday called for an end to the visa lottery system, citing the Justice Department's move to revoke the legal status of a Sundanese man who was convicted in 2010 of funneling $1 million to a designated terrorist in Jordan.

    Here's Trump's tweet:

Time to end the visa lottery. Congress must secure the immigration system and protect Americans. https://www.justice.gov/opa/pr/depar...-recipient-who

The Justice Department said Wednesday that it had asked a federal judge in Missouri to revoke the status of the visa lottery beneficiary, Mubarak Ahmed Hamed, the agency said in a news release.

He entered the U.S. on an F-1 student visa and was granted permanent status through the diversity visa lottery program, according to the release.

In 2010, Hamed pleaded guilty to using his position as executive director of the Islamic American Relief Agency (IARA) to send more than $1 million to parties overseas in violation of U.S. sanctions, the department said.

He was sentenced to four years and 10 months in prison in 2012.

From 1997 to 2000, Hamed transferred the tax-exempt donations to an account in Jordan controlled by Khalid Al-Sudanee, knowing the contributions were being sent to Iraq.

Hamed applied for U.S. citizenship in 2000, while still sending money to Al-Sudanee, and denied in a naturalization interview that he had engaged in criminal activity for which he had not been arrested, the Justice Department said.

In 2004, the Treasury Department declared Al-Sudanee and IARA "specially designated foreign terrorists."

Republicans, you must stop all this DACA talk, all this insane DACA deal talk, and all Amnesty talk. Americans want all immigration curtailed, they want illegal immigration stopped, illegal aliens deported, and legal immigration drastically reduced.

Americans want this, because we have too many people in our country who shouldn't be here. We have to cull out those here illegally with rapid deportation and we have to stop those here legally from having extensions to Visas and TPS. We also have to change any green card immigration to a purely sustainable independent merit-based system, while at the same time drastically reducing the numbers.

I would like to see a Moratorium for at least 10 to 20 years, to stop our population growth. But I would be happy with reducing green card numbers by at least 50%, have them merit-based to fill a specific need that is proven and legitimate, and see what happens with that. This is what happens with the RAISE ACT which I strongly support.

Now, in order to do anything on immigration, we need at least 10 more Senate seats. That's the bottom-line. Until we have a real majority in the US Senate, we are leaders without a baton. just big mouths trying to shout over the big mouths on the other side. To win in politics, we have to win elections. That is our system, and I don't think any of us are ready to trade that in for something else. So, what all Republicans and Trump Supporters, including Independents and Democrats who voted for Trump MUST DEMAND IS NOTHING on immigration from the US Congress UNTIL AFTER we win some more elections and have a gawd damn baton with which to lead our own parade.

Now some truth. This DACA deal crap did not originate with Trump, it originated with NumbersUSA, CIS (Center for Immigration Studies) and FAIR (Federation of American Immigration Reform), who are all so desperate for some type of victory that they met with White House officials in the spring of last year and proposed this DACA deal, to grant an amnesty to DACAs in exchange for various immigration bills they've been pushing for decades with no success.

Furthermore, many of these church groups, all these rich 501 C 3 "religious" entities with "charity" status advocate for "welcoming the stranger". The Catholic Church, the Mormon Church, the Episcopalian Church, the Southern Baptist Convention (oh yes, it's true), the Methodist Church, the Lutheran Church, etc., etc., etc. all want quick action on DACA.

So it's fine if people want to continue to make Trump the "boogeyman", but know this, if you go to church on Sunday and drop money or a check in that offering plate to any of the above named churches, you are underwriting the end of our country and YOU are financing illegal immigration, no different than a drug cartel smuggling them in to run their drug operations.
