20 Million Out of Work Citizens and These RINOs Want to Import 12 Million More

Posted on 1 May, 2014 by Rick Wells

A host of RINO House Republicans are starting to align themselves with their pro-amnesty, anti-citizen counterparts on the Democrat side of what they like to describe as “immigration reform.”
The first point that needs to be addressed, for the record, is that the Democrats have succeeded in mislabeling the debate. Reform implies a correction of what is lacking in something to improve it. There is no improvement being offered in this debate nor are there significant changes.
It is little more than the current law rewritten in virtually the same form, with a new name and 12 million more beneficiaries. It is an instant replay of the 1986 act, which is currently unenforced, presented in the same manner as Lyndon Johnson’s “Great Society” bag of giveaways.
That legislation, aimed primarily aimed at black Americans, still has them voting Democrat fifty years later.
For reasons that only the representatives and possibly some wealthy donors and lobbyists know, there are Republicans endorsing this new Democrat voter importation act.
A partial list of these anti-citizen Republican collaborators includes House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH), Eric Cantor (R-VA), Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA), Peter King (R-NY), Joe Barton (R-TX), Paul Ryan (R-WI), Jeff Denham (R-CA), and Mike Coffman (R-CO). Of course there are others and more will surface after the primary risk is gone, relying upon the “lessor of two evils” factor to carry them to reelection.
The problem with that line of thinking is the difference between knowing your enemy and being betrayed by someone you thought you could trust.
We know the Democrats could not care less about American jobs or the middle class. On this as most other issues, they are the clearly defined enemy. Traitors within the ranks is a whole other, more disdainful and repugnant individual, and they should not rest comfortably thinking they can claim a lesser of two evils distinction.
As of March 31st, the United States workforce stood at 145,742 million working, with a U-3 unemployment rate of 6.7% and reported 10,486 million people out of work.
That figure is regarded by many to be an understatement, as those who have been deemed chronically unemployed, part-time workers who want full time work, and those who have simply given up are not calculated into the totals.
The U-6 method of calculating unemployment numbers includes those individuals and the resulting unemployment rate is roughly double that which is generally touted, at 12.7% for March.
An estimate of the unemployed based upon the 12.7% rate works out to 19,876 million American citizens who can’t get a full time job.
Against that backdrop, we have these sellout Republicans wanting to give equal access to the few good jobs which might become available to border crashers that don’t respect our country enough to not violate our laws to get in, and continue to violate them every day they remain. Those who are working illegally are likely doing so with fraudulent documents, a felony which would have Americans locked in prison, but which is only winked at in the case of illegal aliens.
This is a major issue, not only will jobs that should have the names of American citizens attached to the paycheck be going to the wrong people, all of America will experience lower paying wages as the laws of supply and demand come to bear.
These people who don’t give a damn about their oath of office or the people they swore to represent, the American citizens, need to be among those who lose their jobs due to the ravages of this amnesty. It would be unconscionable for them to retain their positions while so many of us are struggling.
These peacocks in their pink ties obviously don’t care now, but we can make them care a whole lot come November.

There is no mystery here. Demos want amnesty, to lock up control of elected federal offices. Repubs want amnesty, to please the bi-money donors who want a docile, unorganized work force. Both major parties know that their supporters have no place else to go, so they pursue their own agendas, despite the American public's opposition to amnesty.

Not rocket science, just a disgusting disregard for the best interests of American citizens.

17 Facts To Show To Anyone That Still Believes That The U.S. Economy Is Just Fine

Submitted by Tyler Durden on 04/30/2014 22:50 -0400

    Bureau of Labor Statistics
    Federal Reserve
    fixed
    Gross Domestic Product
    Homeownership Rate
    Lehman
    Lehman Brothers
    None
    Real estate
    Reality
    Recession
    recovery

Submitted by Michael Snyder of The Economic Collapse blog,

No, the economy is most definitely not "recovering". Despite what you may hear from the politicians and from the mainstream media (shrugging off today's terrible GDP print), the truth is that the U.S. economy is in far worse shape than it was prior to the last recession. In fact, we are still pretty much where we were at when the last recession finally ended. When the financial crisis of 2008 struck, it took us down to a much lower level economically. Thankfully, things have at least stabilized at this much lower level. For example, the percentage of working age Americans that are employed has stayed remarkably flat for the past four years. We should be grateful that things have not continued to get even worse. It is almost as if someone has hit the "pause button" on the U.S. economy. But things are definitely not getting better, and there are a whole host of signs that this bubble of false stability will soon come to an end and that our economic decline will accelerate once again. The following are 17 facts to show to anyone that believes that the U.S. economy is just fine...
#1 The homeownership rate in the United States has dropped to the lowest level in 19 years.
#2 Consumer spending for durable goods has dropped by 3.23 percent since November. This is a clear sign that an economic slowdown is ahead.
#3 Major retailers are closing stores at the fastest pace that we have seen since the collapse of Lehman Brothers.
#4 According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, 20 percent of all families in the United States do not have a single member that is employed. That means that one out of every five families in the entire country is completely unemployed.
#5 There are 1.3 million fewer jobs in the U.S. economy than when the last recession began in December 2007. Meanwhile, our population has continued to grow steadily since that time.
#6 According to a new report from the National Employment Law Project, the quality of the jobs that have been "created" since the end of the last recession does not match the quality of the jobs lost during the last recession...

    • Lower-wage industries constituted 22 percent of recession losses, but 44 percent of recovery growth.
    • Mid-wage industries constituted 37 percent of recession losses, but only 26 percent of recovery growth.
    • Higher-wage industries constituted 41 percent of recession losses, and 30 percent of recovery growth.

#7 After adjusting for inflation, men who work full-time in America today make less money than men who worked full-time in America 40 years ago.
#8 It is hard to believe, but 62 percent of all Americans make $20 or less an hour at this point.
#9 Nine of the top ten occupations in the U.S. pay an average wage of less than $35,000 a year.
#10 The middle class in Canada now makes more money than the middle class in the United States does.
#11 According to one recent study, 40 percent of all Americans could not come up with $2000 right now even if there was a major emergency.
#12 Less than one out of every four Americans has enough money put away to cover six months of expenses if there was a job loss or major emergency.
#13 An astounding 56 percent of all Americans have subprime credit in 2014.
#14 As I wrote about the other day, there are now 49 million Americans that are dealing with food insecurity.
#15 Ten years ago, the number of women in the U.S. that had jobs outnumbered the number of women in the U.S. on food stamps by more than a 2 to 1 margin. But now the number of women in the U.S. on food stamps actually exceeds the number of women that have jobs.
#16 69 percent of the federal budget is spent either on entitlements or on welfare programs.
#17 The number of Americans receiving benefits from the federal government each month exceeds the number of full-time workers in the private sector by more than 60 million.
Taken individually, those numbers are quite remarkable.
Taken collectively, they are absolutely breathtaking.
Yes, things have been improving for the wealthy for the last several years. The stock market has soared to new record highs and real estate prices in the Hamptons have skyrocketed to unprecedented heights.
But that is not the real economy. In the real economy, the middle class is being squeezed out of existence. The quality of our jobs is declining and prices just keep rising. This reality was reflected quite well in a comment that one of my readers left on one of my recent articles...
It is getting worse each passing month. The food bank I help out, has barely squeaked by the last 3 months. Donors are having to pull back, to take care of their own families. Wages down, prices up, simple math tells you we can not hold out much longer. Things are going up so fast, you have to adopt a new way of thinking. Example I just had to put new tires on my truck. Normally I would have tried to get by to next winter. But with the way prices are moving, I decide to get them while I could still afford them. It is the same way with food. I see nothing that will stop the upward trend for quite a while. So if you have a little money, and the space, buy it while you can afford it. And never forget, there will be some people worse off than you. Help them if you can.
And the false stock bubble that the wealthy are enjoying right now will not last that much longer. It is an artificial bubble that has been pumped up by unprecedented money printing by the Federal Reserve, and like all bubbles that the Fed creates, it will eventually burst.
None of the long-term trends that are systematically destroying our economy have been addressed, and none of our major economic problems have been fixed. In fact, as I showed in this recent article, we are actually in far worse shape than we were just prior to the last major financial crisis.
Let us hope that this current bubble of false stability lasts for as long as possible.
That is what I am hoping for.
But let us not be deceived into thinking that it is permanent.
It will soon burst, and then the real pain will begin.

Epidemic Of Hunger: New Report Says 49 Million Americans Are Dealing With Food Insecurity

Submitted by Tyler Durden on 04/28/2014 20:48 -0400

    NBC
    Recession

Submitted by Michael Snyder of The Economic Collapse blog,

If the economy really is "getting better", then why are nearly 50 million Americans dealing with food insecurity? In 1854, Henry David Thoreau observed that "the mass of men lead lives of quiet desperation". The same could be said of our time. In America today, most people are quietly scratching and clawing their way from month to month. Nine of the top ten occupations in the U.S. pay an average wage of less than $35,000 a year, but those that actually are working are better off than the millions upon millions of Americans that can't find jobs. The level of employment in this nation has remained fairly level since the end of the last recession, and median household income has gone down for five years in a row. Meanwhile, our bills just keep going up and the cost of food is starting to rise at a very frightening pace. Family budgets are being squeezed tighter and tighter, and more families are falling out of the middle class every single day. In fact, a new report by Feeding America (which operates the largest network of food banks in the country) says that 49 million Americans are "food insecure" at this point. Approximately 16 million of them are children. It is a silent epidemic of hunger that those living in the wealthy areas of the country don't hear much about. But it is very real.
The mainstream media and our politicians continue to insist that "things are getting better", and that may be true for Wall Street, but the man who was in charge of the new Feeding America report says that the level of suffering for the tens of millions of Americans that are food insecure has not changed...
Nothing is getting better,” said Craig Gundersen, lead researcher of the report, “Map the Meal Gap 2014,” and an expert in food insecurity and food aid programs.

Let’s stop talking about the end of the Great Recession until we can make sure that we get food insecurity rates down to a more reasonable level,” he added. “We’re still in the throes of the Great Recession, from my perspective.”

In fact, a different report seems to indicate that hunger in America is actually getting worse...
Children's HealthWatch, a network of doctors and public health researchers who collect data on children up to 4 years old, says 29% of the households they track were at risk of hunger last year, compared with 25% the year before.

If someone tries to tell you that "the economy is getting better", that person is probably living in a wealthy neighborhood. Because those that live in poor neighborhoods would not describe what is going around them as an "improvement".

In particular, many minority neighborhoods are really dealing with extremely high levels of food insecurity right now. The following comes from a recent NBC News article...
"Minorities are facing serious hunger issues.

Ninety-three percent of counties with a majority African-American population fall within the top 10 percent of food-insecure counties, while 60 percent of majority American Indian counties fall in that category"

But if you don't live in one of those areas and you don't know anyone that is facing food insecurity, it can be difficult to grasp just how much people are actually suffering out there right now.

For example, consider the story of a young mother named Tianna Gaines Turner...
Tianna Gaines Turner can't remember the last time she went to bed without worrying about how she was going to feed her three children.

She can't remember the last time she woke up and wasn't worried about how she and her husband would make enough in their part-time jobs to buy groceries and pay utilities on their apartment in a working-class section of Philadelphia.

And she can't remember the last time she felt confident she and her husband wouldn't have to skip meals so their children could eat.

Have you ever been in a position where you had to skip meals just so that other family members could have something to eat?

I haven't, so it is hard for me to imagine having to do such a thing. But there are millions of parents that are faced with these kinds of hard choices every day.

Things can be particularly hard if you are a single parent.

Just consider the story of Jamie Grimes...

After Jaime Grimes found out in January that her monthly food stamps would be cut again, this time by $40, the single mother of four broke down into sobs — then she took action.

The former high school teacher made a plan to stretch her family’s meager food stores even further. She used oatmeal and ground beans as filler in meatloaf and tacos. She watered down juice and low-fat milk to make it last longer. And she limited herself to one meal a day so her kids — ages 3, 4, 13, and 16 — would have enough to eat.

I have such admiration for working single mothers. Many of them work more than one job just so that they can provide for their children. It can be absolutely frustrating to work as hard as you possibly can and still not have enough money to pay the bills at the end of the month.

Those that believe that the economy has gotten "back to normal" just need to look at the number of women that have been forced to turn to government assistance. As I mentioned the other day, a decade ago the number of American women that had jobs outnumbered the number of American women on food stamps by more than a 2 to 1 margin. But now the number of American women on food stamps actually exceeds the number of American women that have jobs.

The truth is that we are nowhere close to where we used to be. The last major economic downturn permanently damaged the middle class, and now the next major economic downturn is rapidly approaching.

Right now, there are nearly 50 million Americans that are facing food insecurity. When the next economic crisis strikes, that number is going to go much higher.

BRUCE: Feds disguising the devastation of poverty

Easy benefits allow the poor to settle into ambition-numbing subsistence

Illustration on hiding poverty in America by Linas Garsys/The Washington Times

AudioAudio Clip: 05-02-14 12b Tammy Bruce with Andy Parks

Hiding the poverty consuming this nation is one of government’s big jobs these days.
The Bureau of Labor Statistics made a startling announcement. New data released by the bureau reveals that in one out of every five families — 20 percent — no one is employed. Not one person in those families has a job. This is monumental, but we don’t see it because of the remarkable effort by the federal government to hide the truth.
Why? Because seeing the government’s failure spells their political ruin. Your family and future have been designated as a sacrifice to ensure the future of incompetent — and sometimes malevolent — politicians. Hiding poverty is now Job One.
During the Great Depression, hundreds of people lined up at soup kitchens every day in every city, a resource many people used as their sole food supplier.
It’s not a good thing that people had to line up at a soup kitchen, but that’s the point. We saw the poverty, and by standing in line to get food, you felt the impact of a government that had failed in its policies and duties. There was no denying the truth. You knew something had to change.
How best to perpetrate a lie about the condition of our economy than by making invisible the truth of the matter? When no one sees people in unemployment offices, and no one sees lines of people waiting for food, and no one sees the homeless population soar, it allows the craven in Washington to prevail with lies about what’s really happening.
Today, there’s no need to stand in line for food. Your friendly federal government will send you a pre-filled debit card that you can use without anyone knowing (perhaps even yourself) how desperate your situation is.
In order to file for unemployment benefits, you used to have to stand in line at the “unemployment office,” and speak person-to-person, describing what happened and what sort of work you wanted. Even more importantly, you saw you were not alone.
These days? Go online and file a claim.
Not only do you never need to leave your house, you also never see the physical reality of how many of your neighbors are in the same boat as you are. Instead, after you get your Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) card and click online to get your check, you hear politicians and their mainstream media propagandists on television telling you how fabulous everything is while waxing optimistically about the strength of the “recovery.”
The latest effort by liberals to hide their destruction of our lives comes courtesy of San Jose, Calif. Tired of the tent towns erected by the exploding number of homeless in this city near San Francisco, the City Council decided “to solve San Jose’s homeless problem [by] suggesting new neighborhoods consisting of small structures called “pods” or “microhouses,” according to a local TV station, KPIX.
So, voila — homelessness ended by putting people in a 150-square-foot container. Not only can you say you’ve “solved” the homeless problem, you get rid of the evidence that liberalism destroys people’s lives.
The last time I checked, people weren’t homeless because they lacked a container to live in. They’re homeless because of joblessness, inflation, drug abuse and alcoholism — all of which leads to general despair and misery.
Even more concerning is the apparent goal to convince the millions of Americans who have lost hope that this is the “new normal.” Welfare benefits keep the individual from sinking completely, while ripping away any notion that things can and should be better.
When I was a kid, my mother was on welfare and food stamps for a period of time. There was no EBT card in those days. Instead, you had to peel off coupons, actual stamps, from the food-stamp booklet, and everyone in line at the market knew your situation.
It was embarrassing for my mother, but I’ll always remember her determination to get off welfare and get a job. After one journey to the market when I was 10, she said to me, “Every time we go to the store, I am so ashamed. I’ve got to get a job. I may not be home with you as much, but I’ll be making my own money again, and I’ll be in charge of my life. Remember. Tammy, never let yourself get into a situation where you have to rely on the government so you can live your life. It’s not worth it. It’s killing me.”
My mother wasn’t a political woman, and she had no idea how political that statement really was. In fact, it was a demand for the more natural state of personal freedom and independence. For her, it was brought home when her situation became apparent to other people and, therefore, to herself. While I’m glad she had that safety net, she wanted better, and she knew it was possible.
It’s a powerful thing to know, really know, that things are bad and that you need to make a change. It’s also why politicians are determined to make sure today’s poverty is hidden not just from the public, but from the poverty-stricken themselves.
