I'm watching the Senate debate on CSpan. Senator DeMint has introduced an amendment that requires the illegal aliens to acquire or otherwise hold and have proof of a minimum level of health insurance so as to not continue their burdening of our health care system and the American taxpayer. So what's Kennedy's concern? His concerns are how much will it cost the illegal alien each month and how would "pre-existing conditions" be handled? ARE YOU FRIGGIN' KIDDING ME?????????????? What about the pre-existing condition of being a lawbreaking illegal alien that is illegally here holding jobs illegally, not paying taxes, burdening our education, health care, social and criminal systems?

These people seem to think we have infinite amounts of money to pay taxes for "free" services but never a penny to pay for anything else.

I just posted on HOW PROUD I am of Senator DeMint and his common sense and how he logically held his ground againt Idiot Kennedy. Kennedy just continues to want to give EVERYTHING away and not hold these ciminals accountable. DeMint made so much sense about if these criminals get their opportunities that they need to be held accountable and not make the tax payers carry the burdens. Kennedy was scrammbling.

We need to give DeMint a pat on the back!! He deserves it!!!

These poor people who need free health care are scamming the system. The ones by me are driving brand new vehicles, buying houses, etc. etc. All the while getting paid in cash, getting free health care, blah blah blah. Kennedy is such an idiot. His logic is backwards as usual.

Sadly, I am afraid the action in the senate is laying the ground-work for anarchy. Our country has been through some bad times in recent years but we could find a common denominator in the love of our troops, those lost in 911, etc. With this issue there is nothing to put our collective arms around to reach a reconciliation. We are a divided nation.

I'm watching it too! Kennedy allways has to has to get up after
every other senator has the floor and bluster around, has guestions
that the senator has allready clearly stated, waste time, etc., etc.

I think Senator DeMint's ammendment is a good one! Why should
the taxpayer and hospitals have to shoulder the expense of all the
illegals health care. This way they will have take responsibilty.
This will help the load of emergency rooms also, because most
health insurance plans will not let you use the emergency room
unless you have an illness that is an emergency.

Somebody should also bring up illegals using our hospitals to have
babies that immediately are U.S. Citizens upon their birth. These
woman do not pay for this either and it is ongoing burden on
hospitals and the taxpayers.

I would like to know why his state KEEPS RE ELECTING this traitor!!!!!!!!! (kennedy, of course)

I hate to say it, but I agree with you.

You know the sad part is this amendment would make so much sense but I don't see it passing. Common sense does not pass in this pathetic government.

Pre-existing condition? My GF has a pre-existing condition related to her bout with colon troubles as a child. Now today she has to pay $560 a month for her Kaiser HMO premium. $560 a month, that is outrageous, but she refuses to not pay for her own healthcare. Anyway, because she works, she can't get any free healthcare, not that she would accept it, she is a responsible person. She is a legal immigrant, that is to say she is a geen card holder from England. She has lived here for 35 years, legally, never having once used welfare or free healthcare or anything, never once getting so much as a traffic ticket, never stole someone's identity, never drove without a license or insurance, never marched around waving an English flag demanding special treatment.

She loves America as her near lifelong home, she just chooses to retain her English citizenship and remain a British Subject. And she doesn't freak out at being called a 'permanent resident alien' either, she knows that is the legal title and that's that. She doesn't whine and bitch about being called an 'alien', or demand free benefits or special rights or ignore any laws she doesn't like.

How dare Kennedy worry about the costs for illegal alien lawbreakers, legal immigrants and real Americans don't get special breaks because of pre-existing conditions, they buck up and act responsibly and pay for their own needs. Unlike the masses of illegals who demand that they are given everything free, of course paid for by the taxpayers. Kennedy can go back to Chappaquidick and take a long drive of a short bridge for all I care. How about starting to care for the citizens and legal residents of this country and not supporting the invading lawbreakers who are destroying this country with all their demands for free benefits. They can all go back to their hellhole countries if they don't like it, pay your own way or get the hell out.
