McMaster says no redo on Paris climate deal decision

McMaster says no redo on Paris climate deal decision

National security adviser H.R. McMaster denied Sunday that President Trump is reconsidering his decision to pull out of the Paris climate change accord but said the door remains open to a better agreement down the road.

“That's a false report,” McMaster said of published reports over the weekend that the administration might not pull out of the deal after all and might seek new terms instead.

“The president decided to pull out of the Paris accord because it's a bad deal for the American people and it's a bad deal for the environment,” he said on “Fox News Sunday.”

The Wall Street Journal and Agence France-Presse had cited a top European climate official as saying that the United States was seeking ways to remain a party to the deal. The White House denied those reports in a statement Saturday, and McMaster underscored the U.S. position Sunday.

“The president's ears are open if, at some point, they decide they can come forward with an agreement that addresses the president's very legitimate concerns with Paris,” McMaster said.

Trump had announced in June that the United States would begin a three-year process of withdrawal. He said then that he could revisit the decision if the United States could renegotiate terms he sees as unfair.

The U.S. withdrawal was seen as a policy victory for then-adviser Stephen K. Bannon and his deep suspicion of international agreements and obligations. McMaster's disagreements with Bannon over matters of policy, access to Trump and other issues are well known, and McMaster acted to reduce Bannon's role. Last month, Trump dismissed Bannon in a White House shake-up.

Fox host Chris Wallace noted during the interview the bad blood that had existed between McMaster and Bannon and asked McMaster whether the Trump administration is better off without Bannon.

    McMaster answered carefully.

“The administration is better off when we can serve the president by integrating and coordinating across all of our departments and agencies with our key allies and partners and to present the president with multiple options and then, based on his decisions, to help the president implement these policies that prioritize protecting and advancing the interests of the American people,” McMaster began.

“And so what's important is to have an inclusive process, not to try to manipulate into a particular decision or to advance your own agenda.”

Pressed on whether Bannon was guilty of such manipulation or ulterior motives, McMaster denied that there was an active feud between the two men and repeated his goal of open discussion of competing viewpoints.

“There were some who tried to operate outside that process for their own narrow agendas, and that did not serve the president well.”

Are we being conned by McMaster or Tillerson and Gary Kohn or who? Rex Tillerson said this morning on Fox News Sunday that the liberal Gary Cohn is working on something. Paris Accord is just a way for America to be fleeced of her citizen taxpayer dollars by other nations.

Tillerson: Trump Open to Staying in Paris Climate Accord, ‘Under the Right Conditions’

Sunday on CBS’s “Face The Nation,” Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said President Donald Trump would be open to remaining in the Paris climate accord.

Tillerson said, “The position is being led and developed by Gary Cohn over at the National Economic Council. I think if you recall, the president also said, look, we are willing to work with partners in the Paris climate accord. If we can construct a set of terms that we believe is fair and balanced for the American people and recognizes our economy, our economic interests, relative to others, in particular, the second-largest economy in the world, China.”

He added, “I think under the right conditions, the president said he’s open to finding those conditions where we can remain engaged with others on what we all agree is still a challenging issue.”

The only thing these traitors should be focused on right now is:

    Deportation...end DACA...no path to stay

    Fund and Build the Wall

    End Birthright Citizenship

Defund all refugee, asylum and illegal alien programs

    Get our healthcare fixed

    Pass Voter ID

    Get our tax reform done

That is enough to keep you incompetent, unproductive, members of Congress and the Senate busy! Not think up MORE ways to fleece the American taxpayers.

    We want this done now!

WE DO NOT WANT TO BORROW MONEY FROM CHINA TO GIVE TO THE PARIS CLIMATE AGREEMENT SO WE PAY TO CLEAN UP CHINA'S AND INDIA'S POLLUTION PUTTING US FURTHER IN DEBT!
ILLEGAL ALIENS HAVE "BROKEN" OUR IMMIGRATION SYSTEM

DO NOT REWARD THEM - DEPORT THEM ALL

No, Trump has made it clear that we are out of the Paris Climate Accord. That's a done deal that isn't changing at all. But Trump also said the United States would continue our efforts to control and continue to reduce pollution and emissions, but not the way we were bound to do under this climate accord where we do and pay for everything while other countries continue to pollute and pay nothing. That deal is ... over.

Trump also said at the time he announced his withdrawal that the US would consider re-entering a new accord if the terms were right. They never will be, so it's finished. The only reason all the other countries signed on to it was because they were all getting something at the expense of the United States, so if you collapse our payouts to them, there is no deal because none of them want to pay for it, they want the US to pay for it, and that isn't happening, at least not under Trump.

Tillerson is doing his job as our chief diplomat which means continuing conversations about different ways to address climate change and global warming, but talking about different means and ways including technologies and policies doesn't mean we're not getting out of it, it just means we're continuing to address in a responsible fashion the issues of climate change and how they impact the lives of Americans and other people around the world, just not at our expense.

Pass out sharp pencils, have kitchen table type expense lists, life or death priorities; not the let's open the window and throw billions out to give to people, nations that hate us, things we should not or cannot afford at this time. Begin with mass deportations and ending the cash give always where we get nothing in return.

Fire the democrats like Gary Cohn.

You know it came out that Gary Cohn was wrongfully leaked about, lied about. Cohn supported the end of DACA. He did oppose withdrawing from Paris Climate Accord but that's because he feared the international back-lash. Trump said, I don't care, I can take it, end it.

Gary Cohn, like John Kelly, McMasters and others was a bad hire. Cohn, former President of Goldman Sachs, is a swamp dweller who only continues to serve the President because he has higher political ambitions. He has his sights on the Federal Reserve chairman job, which supposedly Trump is considering him for. He came close to resigning when Trump blamed both sides for the the incident in Charlottesville. He thought the blame should rest solely on the white supremacist and neo-Nazis. Of course, Cohn, being of the Jewish faith ... well, no surprise there. Cohn went public with his condemnation of Trump. While lambasting AG Sessions for doing the right thing in recusing himself in the Russia probe, not a peep was directed toward Cohn for publicly disrespecting him. I guess Jared Kushner's hand picked swamp dweller is positioned solidly in the Trump administration. Yes, Cohn was hired at the recommendation of Jared Kushner.
