BREAKING: New Disease Outbreak Likely “Imported” From Across Border

Who can forget last year’s invasion of illegal immigrants across our nation’s southern border, or how thousands of them carried dangerous and deadly contagious diseases with them?

Of course, the Obama administration tried to cover up this inconvenient information, as they helped spread these sick illegals all around the country.

It is no wonder then that we are witnessing outbreaks of various contagious viruses and diseases, and not just the normal annual flu outbreak.

California, among a few other states, is currently suffering from an outbreak of the measles, believed to have originated at Disneyland, and suspected to have been introduced by illegal immigrants, according to The Gateway Pundit.
At last count, there were more than 68 cases of measles in California, and there is ample worry that the number will grow there and into other states.

This situation poses a perfectly legitimate question. Are these cases of measles connected to the influx of sick illegal immigrants that crossed our border and spread across the country last year?

Dr. Elizabeth Lee Vliet thinks so, at least according to an article she wrote for The Monitor last year.

“Carried by this tsunami of illegals are the invisible “travelers” our politicians don’t like to mention: diseases the United States had controlled or virtually eradicated: tuberculosis (TB), Chagas disease, dengue fever, hepatitis, malaria and measles. I have been working on medical projects in Central and South America since 2009, so I am aware of problems these countries face from such diseases…”

“…Vaccine-preventable diseases like chicken pox, measles and whooping cough spread like wildfire among unvaccinated children. Other illnesses, along with scabies and head lice, also thrive as children are transported by bus and herded into crowded shelters — courtesy of the federal government. And treatment costs are borne by taxpayers.”

The vast majority of American children are vaccinated against the measles, as it is part of the MMR vaccine that virtually all American-born infants receive. But children in Central and South America aren’t vaccinated for measles and are highly susceptible to catching and spreading it.

So is this California outbreak of measles “imported” by illegal immigrants? We may never know for sure, but there certainly is a good chance that’s the case.

With the Disneyland measles outbreak expected to grow, California hospitals and doctors’ offices are preparing for new cases and a flood of questions from patients worried about getting the disease. So far 68 cases of measles have been reported in California this year, the bulk of them in people who visited — or had contact with someone who visited —two Disney theme parks in Anaheim. The outbreak could get much worse.

In 2011, there were 222 confirmed Measles cases in the United States, 200 were linked with importations, including 72 that were linked with importations from other countries.

So is this latest outbreak linked to the influx of illegal immigrant children welcomed to America by the Obama administration?

Dr. Elizabeth Lee Vliet warned about this possibility at The Monitor back in June 2014:

A flood of illegals has massively surged at our Southwestern borders. The economic impact of medical care, education and incarceration for illegals forced on taxpayers is bankrupting Arizona.
Why are such swarms now entering the United States illegally, particularly children? There are many unanswered questions about this invasion of illegals with unaccompanied children:

• Who are paying for so many impoverished people and young children to get to the U.S. border from Central and South America?
• Why is our government preventing Border Patrol agents from speaking out?
• Why is our government not enforcing our immigration laws as other countries do?
• Why are federal officials transporting illegal immigrants from Texas to Arizona?

Illegal immigration is not a victimless crime. All taxpayers and all patients are its victims. Diseases don’t stop at borders. Diseases don’t discriminate based on political affiliation.

Today it is Arizona and Texas. Tomorrow it will be your state, your medical care, your health, your life and your children. Demand Congress stop this flagrant lawlessness at our borders.

The Canadian government blames the current US outbreak on “imported cases.”

Measles outbreak casts spotlight on anti-vaccine movement

LOS ANGELES — A major measles outbreak traced to Disneyland has brought criticism down on the small but vocal movement among parents to opt out of vaccinations for their children.

In a rash of cases that public health officials are rushing to contain, at least 70 people in six states and Mexico have fallen ill since mid-December, most of them from California. The vast majority of those who got sick had not gotten the measles-mumps-rubella, or MMR, vaccine.

While still a scourge in many corners of the world, measles has been all but eradicated in the U.S. since 2000 because of vaccinations. But the virus has made a comeback in recent years, in part because of people obtaining personal belief exemptions from rules that say children must get their shots to enroll in school.

Others have delayed getting their children vaccinated because they still believe now-discredited research linking the measles vaccine to autism.

"Some people are just incredibly selfish" by skipping shots, said Dr. James Cherry, a pediatric disease expert at the University of California, Los Angeles.

As cases mount, several newspapers have criticized the anti-vaccine movement.

Measles "is a disease that has been beaten by modern medicine. That makes it all the more frustrating that anti-science stubbornness has proven, in the case of the Disneyland-related measles, that when it comes to contagious diseases, it's a small world after all," the Los Angeles Times said in an editorial last week.

Barbara Loe Fisher, director of the National Vaccine Information Center, a Virginia-based nonprofit that favors letting parents decide whether to vaccinate, said, "I don't think it's wise or responsible to blame" unvaccinated people for the Disney outbreak. She noted that a small number of those stricken had been fully vaccinated.

Health authorities believe the outbreak was triggered by a measles-stricken visitor to one of the Disney parks who brought the virus from abroad last month.

As one of the world's biggest tourist destinations, Disney was a perfect spot for the virus to spread, with large numbers of babies too young to be vaccinated and lots of visitors from countries that do not require measles shots. The disease has since spread beyond Disneyland.

The infected ranged from 7 months to 70 years old, including five Disneyland workers.

"It's tragic to see measles making a resurgence," said Deanne Thompson, a spokeswoman for the Orange County Health Care Agency. "When our immunity falls, it creates a problem for the whole community."

While all states require certain vaccinations for schoolchildren, parents in certain states such as California can opt out if they sign a personal belief waiver.

In the past five years, the percentage of kindergartners in California who are up to date on all vaccinations has held pretty steady from 90.7 percent in the 2010-11 school year to 90.4 percent in 2014-15. But there are some wealthy communities in Los Angeles and Orange counties and in Northern California with double-digit vaccination exemption rates.

To control this latest outbreak, those who are not vaccinated were warned this week to stay away from Disney theme parks.

Disney employees who have no proof of immunization and may have come into contact with sick colleagues were placed on paid leave until they are given the medical all-clear.

At Huntington Beach High School in Orange County, two dozen unvaccinated students were ordered home until the three-week incubation period is up.

More than 30 babies in Northern California's Alameda County have been placed in home isolation after possible exposure.

"I'm terribly upset that someone has made a choice that not only affects their child but other people's children," said Jennifer Simon, whose 6-month-old daughter, Livia, was isolated after it was learned she may have been exposed to measles during a visit to the doctor's office.

You would have to be a complete and total idiot incapable of picking your own nose to not see the relation between the influx of unvaccinated illegal alien children into our schools, where our children - vaccinated or not - catch the strain of disease brought here by the illegals. LOS ANGELES (AP) — A measles outbreak that originated at Disneyland has grown to 87 cases.

The California Department of Public Health said Monday most of the infections — 73— are in California. The rest are in Arizona, Utah, Washington, Colorado, Oregon, Nebraska and Mexico.

Measles has been spreading since an outbreak linked to visits to California Disney parks last month. Most of those infected were not vaccinated, and health officials have urged people to get the measles shot.

Measles is a contagious illness spread through the air by coughing and sneezing. It was largely eliminated in the U.S. in 2000, but it can enter the country from abroad.

The U.S. experienced a record number of measles cases last year, with 644 infections reported from 27 states.

Oh that is so typical to blame Americans who prefer not to vaccinate their children of diseases that no longer exist in the US for this when the disease was brought into the country as so many diseases that were wiped out in the US have returned with this massive foreign tourism and immigration, legal and illegal.

We could add "contemptible weaklings" to that list.

The source countries would never permit massive immigration into their own countries, but the people who are running those countries can see that we don't have the backbone to protect our own people.

We literally are paying to be colonized by people whom we do not need. Labor force participation is down, wages are stagnant, and even our STEM graduates are having difficulty getting jobs in their fields. And 'Bamacrats and the Repub leadership want even larger immigration. Yikes.
