Authorities investigating Twitter threat against Sen. Ted Cruz

On Friday, The Hill reported that authorities are investigating a threat leveled against Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, that was posted onTwitter.

"Take down Ted Cruz, at his home,” tweeted an individual identied on Twitter as Troy Gilmore Jr., who also posted Cruz's home address in Houston. “What goes around comes around CRUZ!!”

According to The Hill, Gilmore used the Twitter handle @ArmyVet54 and identified himself as a veteran of the Army and the Navy.

“We’re aware of it and have alerted the proper authorities," said Cruz spokesman Sean Rushton. “I can’t comment further on security matters," he added.

Late Friday afternoon, The Hill said, Gilmore posted another apparent threat, saying Cruz “needs to be (sic) taught a street wise (sic) lesson."

Earlier in the day, Gilmore issued a threatening message targeting Cruz and other conservatives including Tea Party members.

"Ted Cruz, needs to be taken out the F****r and Heritage Action Grp,Freedom Way and all Tea party b*stards they caused this (sic)," he tweeted.

On Thursday, Gilmore issued a number of threatening tweets against Cruz and other conservatives, and encouraged others to take violent action against the Texas Republican.

"COME PEOPLE RISE UP AT TED CRUZ,HOME IN HOUSTON,AND TAKE THAT ANTI-CHRIST B*STARD DOWN.HE DESERVES EVERYTHING HE GETS THE P***Y (sic)," he tweeted.

Gilmore also posted Cruz's address a number of times on Twitter.

Twitchy said that other liberals on Twitter lashed out at Cruz.

"I would love if I had a chance to punch him in the face a million times," one person tweeted Friday morning.

One Twitter user who expressed hate for Cruz admonished those threatening violence, but was rebuffed.

"Maybe threats would get him to leave the country and do us all a favor. His ego wouldn't know how to handle it," tweeted "Nancy."

Since Cruz took a strong public stand against Obamacare, liberals from the president on down have engaged in a relentless campaign to foment hate and violence against Cruz. Some Republicans, like John McCain and Rep. Peter King, R-N.Y., have joined in that effort.

The so-called "mainstream media" has also done its part to fan the flames of hate.

"Cruz has become the de facto leader of the GOP's kamikaze caucus," tweetedMSNBC's "Hardball" account.

It appears the Alinsky-style campaign has begun to bear fruit.

Authorities looking into threat against Texas Sen. Ted Cruz

Posted on 18 October, 2013 by Dylan

    via the hill

Law enforcement officials are investigating a threat against Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), who was vaulted into national prominence with his push to defund ObamaCare.
A person identifying himself as Troy Gilmore Jr., posted on Twitter Friday morning: “Take down Ted Cruz, at his home” and listed Cruz’s home address in Houston.
“What goes around comes around CRUZ!!” the person wrote.
The author of the threat uses the Twitter handle @ArmyVet54 and identifies himself as having served in the U.S. Army and Navy.
Sean Rushton, Cruz’s spokesman, said, “We’re aware of it and have alerted the proper authorities.”
“I can’t comment further on security matters,” he said.
At about 5:30 pm on Friday, @ArmyVet54 posted another apparent threat, urging that Cruz “needs tobe [sic] taught a street wise [sic] lesson”.
The person posted Cruz’s home address several other times this month and repeatedly used threatening language.
The apparent threats are not directed at any audience in particular because @ArmyVet54 does not have any Twitter followers. But a search of Cruz’s name on Twitter can find them.
The Capitol Police takes all threats to members of Congress seriously.
“We are looking into that matter,” said Officer Shennell Antrobus, a spokesman for the Capitol Police.

People that are on the dole have the time to protest when the people they are protesting are working to pay for them. These government paid protesters are nothing but a shiftless underclass of non producers. JMO
