Metro Police prepare for Trump's rally

LAS VEGAS
Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump is making his first campaign stop in Las Vegas since becoming the party's presumptive nominee.
But the visit comes on the heels of protests that led to several arrests in at least three cities this week.

So how are local police preparing and how have his past visits gone?

The memorable moments from Donald Trump's rallies in Las Vegas have generally come from inside the venues.

Remember when he told the crowd he'd like to punch the protestor in the face back in February. And in October, Trump brought a woman on stage from the crowd.

Police are prepariong for those unpredictable moments.

Wherever Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump goes, protesters follow.

"Yeah you could get him out or if he wants, he can stay, I don't care," Trump yelled at one rally.

Trump will be coming to Las Vegas for a campaign rally Saturday and protesters are expected as well.

There have been several high-profile demonstrations outside his hotel in Las Vegas most notably a culinary union protest the day before the democratic debate at the Wynn last October which included a surprise visit by Hillary Clinton.

"Some people think Trump is entertaining, but I don't think it's entertaining when someone insults immigrants, insults women," she said.

This is his second rally inside friend Phil Ruffin's Treasure Island Mystere theatre.

His first visit as a candidate was last October.

This time around, Metro Police say they have coordinated with Secret Service and will have what they believe is the "appropriate" number of officers ready although they won't go into specifics.

However, they say other similar recent events are taken into consideration and just this week, there were protests and arrests outside Trump rallies in Texas, Georgia and North Carolina.

Dallas Police even held riot training prior to a rally there. The number of riot officers on standby for that event was in the hundreds.
