    WILLIAM IS RIGHT!

I read William's thread regarding the men on this board not pulling their weight. Even though I'm a woman, I saw myself in his words.

I'm sure we all have our own reasons for not putting in the same level of hard work that many ALIPAC members do, but I think we need to do some soul-searching and ask ourselves if it's fair to use this site as merely a place to vent.

Because I'm very guilty of just that. I come here, and I vent. I feel better, but I'm not actually doing anything to help the cause.

I cannot send emails through our email system here at work regarding illegal immigration. I would get fired if I was caught using our email system for political purposes.

At home, I have a frustrating situation in that my husband is sympathetic to illegal immigration and considers me a semi-Nazi. This has put a huge damper in our marriage; therefore, I try to keep my anti-illegal immigration views to myself, and I don't come to this site when I'm home with my husband.

Regardless, I feel that I can no longer take from ALIPAC and not give back. I have to make the decision as to whether or not I can become active in the fight, pulling my weight and doing my fair share, or leave. Because I realize it's unfair of me to just come here to vent.

And I think a few others here probably need to make that decision too.

I'm not going to get too worked up over any complaints about my use of my time one way or another, but the fact is that I do not work a 9 to 5. I work until the work is done, and at the moment it seems as though the work will never be done. I travel 1 to 2 weeks out of every month with most of the travel being international. That means that what free time I do have is split between contributing to efforts like this one, other political activities, the various yardwork and housework that I have to make an effort to get done, and lastly for my personal life (which has lately been reduced to buying groceries, making out bills, and catching up with email).

The point is that not everyone has a lot of free time. Some of us have what amounts to no free time at all. I post here when I'm waiting for a meeting or a phone call or when my brain is too tired to immediately launch into a new r&d project or drawing. I can spare a few tens of minutes at a time, generally speaking. So while I sign as many petitions as I can and take the opportunity to write letters to my elected representatives or anyone else who needs a good kick in the rear, it is quite difficult for me to find the time to get up to speed on a specific letter-writing campaign or other coordinated action. When I come across them and have the time at the same time, I'm more than happy to help.

I can't imagine that I am the only person in this position, so the others of you who have little or no time may feel free to consider this a defense of your own situations as well.

My position is similar to yours as well. I am at work right now with spurts of down time. When I see alerts (usually reading and suggesting changes to press releases) I take the time to correct/or respond to William. In addition to (a 3 hr a day commute) and working full time I am also a single parent with no help whatsoever and the grocery shopping, housework, bill paying, school functions for my son are the sum of a personal life. I will however try harder to do more since this cause is very important to me.

    CrocketGhost,

I totally understand your position. Really, I do.

I have contributed financially to ALIPAC, and I also send emails to my representatives when I can sneak them in at home without my husband seeing.

My point in my above post is that maybe we can all find some smidgeon of time to extend a helping hand so that the hard work doesn't fall on just a few here.

But I really do understand your point.

The point in my post was not that some people are working and others are not.

The point I made was that during a critical project that was tough work, we only had one male out of the 9 people that got the work done.

These boards are to be a work area.

While there is value to the the opinions expressed here since so many people view the comments on the issues and around the news stories,

There is no strong value to merely communicating to other like minded people.

Yes, everyone that cares about this issue needs to try to do something and contribute towards the goals of saving this country and sometimes that involves doing things that are more like hard work than venting.

Providing everyone a place to vent and feel better will not do our nation much good. It will simply provide a little comfort to our people for a short time while the nation falls apart around us.

Too much of that and eventually the lights will go out here at ALIPAC as well as our side is destroyed and dismantled.

If we cannot muster enough focused time and funds and the other side wins these political battles then we will all be on our unmerry way to subjugation and slavery.

In this crisis, some people will respond to the leadership of others and work as a team force. Others will function well as lone operatives and others will will spin their wheels uselessly in circles in a state of panic.

I think everyone is right in this discussion. I read William's post and thought about it. I am very busy, limited time between work (I'm in sales) and home...family...church and etc.

What I took from William's post was, is there more I can do? And if so, do it!

Incedently W, my wife thinks I'm addicted to Alipac.us. haha.

Well, as an ALIPAC member for well over a year now and over 6,000 posts (I can't believe that !!), I can honestly say that I have never seen or heard William call out to us unless it was is a critical time for this fight.

I have a strong sense that we are right now, at this very moment at the most critical point that I've ever seen, personally.

I know that William has to think fast and make a lot of different decisions in a matter of hours regarding this.

So I will just say that we're all good at expressing our opinions and we're good communicators and that is an important part of this fight.

But all of us are not totally maxed out. Most all of us are busy and tired and missing time with our families, wanting to do chores, fix things, call a relative......let's face it, we've dedicated a lot to this fight for our country and I'm so proud of all of us, and thankful that we answered to the call from our country.

I think we all understand the dilemma. Why don't we all privately think it over a little and over the next few days maybe we can do something a little more to help, post it....and then will just keep doing the best that we can.

I just want us to win this battle.....because it is so imortant and it is the right fight for us to be in, if we want to give to our children, what was given to us, which was a country to love, honor and protect and respect.

William, thank you for everything that you've done and sacraficed for this cause. I know that it's been a lot.

    William is right

Just want to say that I'll bet there are some of us who participate but are quiet about it, guess I could say. Tis true, life is hectic for many individuals. We may do little, we may do more, but we have many among us.

Probably I'm one of the quiet ones. Just to let you know though, I've been writing my representative, many senators, expressing our cause/issues and have received many letters in return. However, I was truly down in the mouth over the last reply received when reading that letter the representative sent.

I had written about that super highway including a link, other topics, and then received a reply almost word for word as was the first letter. it Ticked me off!

Sometimes I wonder if those in the seats of government, have their "staff" do the replies? However, the House did seem to be on the ball! Senators sent the same generic replies which I've read many of you have received.

I by no means intend to express that I am as intelligent or as hard working as some. This is just to let you know, I'm doing my small part and am with you all the way.

The way this country is going, Bush at the helm, sickens me to say the least.

Have faith William. I think more of us are around than you realize. We're with ya!

    Hello all,

I've been stressed to the max in my life. I've been a single mom chewed up by the corporate world. I know how fast paced and hectic life can be. On the other hand, I have set aside my personal business so I can dedicate time to Alipac and the mission. However, there is only one of me and I can't do it all alone. Honestly if I could, the illegal alien problem would have been solved by me in 1986. I would have been at the Dallas Consulate chasing them back to Mexico, instead of letting them line up for two strait weeks signing up for amnesty.

That being said, when I'm involved in a campaign effort, I've put a lot of consideration into making it as effortless as possible for people to participate. For instance, the City Focus Campaigns. Brian, myself and others have spent a lot of time putting it all together, in easy to use pages. We collected all the information you need to e-mail the elected officials, we have written sample letters and put all the source materials in one location. Honestly, we've done everything but cut-n-paste and send the e-mails for you. Also, sending one e-mail only takes a few minutes and if all of us are participating it will make a big difference.

I understand that there is always room for improvement and I'm willing he hear you out. I realize things can be confusing and anyone one can PM me questions. I'm not untouchable and you can ask me anything. I'm willing to help you and answer to the best of my ability. Please go try the campaign and PM me with any streamlining ideas because I'll put them to use immediately.

If everyone was just dedicated to sending a few e-mails or making a few phone calls every day, we would be very effective. Those e-mails are like the pebble that starts an avalanche. Small efforts by many people can result in huge outcomes. We have to pull together and start heading in the same direction. We have to push together and not stand back and wait for others to do it for us. I know complacency is the American way but that is what got us into this mess. The only way out is hard work and a lot of focused effort.

Please help me beat illegal immigration city by city, politician by politician, e-mail by e-mai, phone call by phone call...

    Thanks Y'all,

    Dixie

PS: Go read what complacency did for Sandwich, MA.
