I would like to know if there are any large scale protests up and coming?

The above link is on our home page. It lists all the events we are aware of.
It looks like there isn't then.
Why not? If "they" are doing it, why aren't we?
I'm a little tired of sitting on my rump writing letters that are being thrown on a pile of other letters that no one is reading. I'm tired of getting the same form mails sent back to me, despite the fact that I put in a whole lot of time coming up with my own original letters.
Call me naive and "new blood" but why aren't we doing more? Don't get me wrong - I DO realize the importance of letters and phone calls but it seems that there is a whole lot more that can be done and needs to be done quickly.
Large scale protests is not a focus of ALIPAC.Quote:

Most of us have jobs and can't afford to travel for events like you are thinking of. We don't have groups like NCLR providing buses, bottled water, T-Shirts and probably even lunches. There have been a couple of rallys that I have attended in Raleigh. Even though we attempted to get the word out and a couple of organizations were involved, the best we could muster were a couple of dozen people. However, we did get some local media attention.
Can't we have a pro legal-anit illegal immigrant demonstration on 4th of July in D.C.? Everybody is free except the illegal aliens.
That looks as good a date as any.Quote:

I think if they had a protest against illegals in Miami there would most likely be violence due to the large number of both legals and illegals from South and Central America and Mexico. There are a number of those people will stand up for their own even when they are doing something wrong.
Protests for legal-against illegal immigrants in Miami, Los Angelos, NYC, Chicago will be described by the liberal media (TV en Newspapers) as a clinic clown show if they decide to pay attention to it. If it would happen in Washington and on 4th July, it would be a more powerfull message to congress that we demand REAL action against illegal immigrants or else it will face the conquence on election day in 2008. Not everybody can afford a trip like that, that's true, but with help of pro legal and anti-illegal immigrants congressmen, airliners who support the american middle class (I hope some of them exist) and the minute men projects etc, can help organize something like this. One thing is sure, a mass demonstration is necessery to warn Washington DC "again" who really can vote and who can't, because some of them still don't or want to understand that. If you look and read carefully the agendas of the people who are trying or will run for president, than we all have a problem what may be the end of the middle class and the poor of the United States. Than it's sure that one day we will be on the History channel in a foreign country with the title, "Once there was a nation called the United States of America, 1776 -    ."
Nicholas,
Your zeal is to be applauded, but "JohnB" is right. Rallys do not really accomplish much. What does count is getting our leaders at the the local level (city, county and state) to enforce our laws and deport the problem to the Feds.
In other words, the leadership must come from the bottom up. Why? Because the Federal government is simply not going to address this issue. They are all in cahoots financially. They are "Judas" to the American people.

I don't agree. IMHO, our elected politicians in Washington can ill afford to dismiss tens of thousands of fed-up American citizen voters that are well organized and standing at their at their front door. Sure, small protests don't accomplish much, but large ones can and have (Example, Martin Luther King's civil rights marches). Actually, large protests and marches can influence those city, county, and state leaders you're talking about too, but unfortunately all the protesting in the world won't do much good at the local level if our Washington leaders approve a massive amnesty program. All local ordinances and state laws designed to discourage and end illegal immigration will become moot when 75% of the nations illegals become legal residents. Something unique and extraordinary needs to be done to gain the attention of our elected politicians and those American's that have been wrongfully influenced and misinformed by the pro-illegal immigration propaganda machines, which include our federal government. I firmly believe, for the most part, our U.S. Congress members have gotten so used to our letters, phone calls, and email on this issue that they've learned to tune them out. I don't know about the rest of you, but I certainly don't receive the responses I used to when sharing my concerns with my representatives. Something big, really big, needs to happen to turn the bull before we get the horns! If that "something" isn't a massive protest march, what should it be? The atmosphere has changed with the loss the U.S. House, which means our tactics may need adjusted accordingly. Once again, I submit that something on a grand scale has to be done. Got any ideas?Quote:

Just my opinion........
