Subject: Help Sue Fight Illegal Immigration

    > Dear Dianne,
    >
    > Our current immigration system is broken and its policies have failed!
    > Illegal immigrants cost our nation $15 billion last year.
    > What's more, they account for more than 25 percent of
    > America's prison population. Taxes, Taxes, Taxes!
    >
    > There are also too few enforcement officials keeping illegal aliens
    > out of our country. And there are too few immigration officials
    > to handle the influx of immigrants who get in.
    >
    > We can't just put a band aid on the current failed system and
    > hope it gets better - we must correct the whole system from the
    > inside-out.
    >
    > First, America's borders must be secured. The Department
    > of Homeland Security needs to hire the more than 2,300 new Border
    > Patrol agents, Immigration Criminal investigators, Immigration
    > Enforcement agents, and Immigration and Customs Enforcement attorneys
    > Congress has already authorized!
    >
    > If that doesn't get the job done, we need to get boots on the
    > ground and use our troops to seal the border, which, again, Congress
    > has already authorized.
    >
    > On a local level, North Carolina has the fastest growing illegal
    > immigrant population with more than 300,000. We need our own
    > Immigration and Customs Enforcement office, which is presently under
    > the jurisdiction of Atlanta, GA.
    >
    > It's ludicrous that we have to depend on Atlanta to handle our
    > state's immigration problems. It's inefficient and a
    > waste of tax dollars to have to transport illegal aliens to Atlanta,
    > and that is why I'm fighting to get our own facilities to
    > process and deport illegal's in our state.
    >
    > Don't you find it unbelievable that, currently, all deportation
    > hearings for North Carolina immigrants are held in Atlanta? It
    > makes no sense for our state, which has the fastest growing population
    > of illegals to, yet again, have to rely on Atlanta to process and hold
    > deportation hearings for these aliens.
    >
    > To correct that major flaw in the system, we need an Immigration Court
    > headquartered in North Carolina. What good is it to have
    > deportation orders for an illegal alien if they never get a
    > deportation hearing? I am fighting to bring this court to North
    > Carolina.
    >
    > I'm also fighting to get a Federal Detention and Deportation
    > Facility located in North Carolina. It costs us in Mecklenburg
    > County, alone, upwards of $109 per person per night to detain illegals
    > in our local jails. That's about $7,000 a night for
    > Mecklenburg alone. Imagine the cost statewide!
    >
    > It's imperative that we build our own center for North Carolina
    > that houses nothing but illegal aliens awaiting deportation.
    > Period! The money is already appropriated.
    >
    > Last year I voted and Congress authorized federal money for Charlotte
    > to get a Fugitive Operations Team, which included 7 immigration and
    > detention officers. However, though the money was appropriated,
    > none of these positions have been filled. Why? Because the
    > immigration office in Atlanta is stone-walling us.
    >
    > The problem expands way beyond Charlotte. There are currently
    > over 600 vacancies nationwide for deportation officers! Congress has
    > given the money for the hiring of these positions, yet the bureaucracy
    > fails to hire the agents.
    >
    > This is absolutely inexcusable! If the Department of Homeland Security
    > can't fill these vacancies why don't they hold a job fair
    > in NC? I know I could find 600 qualified people looking for
    > work. It's time that we demand more officers, and not
    > allow bureaucracy to stand in our way of getting them.
    >
    > North Carolina must also stop giving illegals driver's
    > licenses. Did you know that our state is one of only six states
    > in the country that allows a taxpayer identification number as a valid
    > form of ID to get a driver's license? A taxpayer ID number does
    > not prove your identity or residence. No wonder more and more
    > illegal immigrants are flooding into our state we have a broken system
    > that encourages illegal behavior.
    >
    > Our state's leadership must wake up and face reality.
    > I've called on the Governor of North Carolina to end this
    > practice of accepting tax ID's as a valid form of identification
    > for obtaining a drivers license.
    >
    > To ensure our Governor is listening, I am offering a bill in Congress
    > that will take away all federal transportation money to any state,
    > including North Carolina, that continues to issue drivers licenses
    > based on the issuance of tax payer identification numbers. Maybe
    > that will get our state leadership's attention!
    >
    > We also must fix loopholes in our current laws to attack the roots of
    > our failed immigration policies. This requires us to increase
    > the penalties for employers who knowingly break our immigration laws
    > by hiring illegals.
    >
    > A great many small business owners tell me that they can't
    > compete anymore in their industries because their competitors are
    > hiring illegals under the table dirt cheap. Currently,
    > businesses who knowingly hire an illegal alien are fined $250 per
    > alien.
    >
    > I have introduced a bill that will increase that fine to $10,000 per
    > alien and give the arresting law enforcement agency a percentage of
    > the fine. In addition, I support a pilot program underway in 6
    > states that allows employers to do background checks on the legal
    > status of a potential employee, and receive a "yes" answer
    > almost immediately. We have to crack down on those who willingly
    > break the law and my bill will do it!
    >
    > Finally, to end the reckless abuse of our drinking and driving laws
    > that recently led to the death of one of my constituents, I have
    > introduced the Scott Gardner Act, which, among other things, will make
    > DWI convictions an automatic deportable offense.
    >
    > Again the current system is broken, and it's up to people like
    > you and me to fix it. As you can see there's a lot of work
    > to be done. It is time for the silent majority to speak up and
    > make our voices heard.
    >
    > I'm doing what I can, but I need your help so I can be there to
    > do more. We're approaching another election year and,
    > frankly, there's a lot of uncertainty amongst voters.
    > Democrats are already spending enormous amounts of money on next
    > year's races, and I need your help to allow me to be there so I
    > can keep fighting for you.
    >
    > Billboards, television ads, yard signs and running a campaign cost
    > money, and lots of it. I'm no millionaire - I rely on friends

    My response to Sue Myrick

Thank you for your 11/1 letter regarding illegal immigration.

As you may be aware, there is a large grass roots effort underway to make this topic a top priority in the upcoming elections. First, we as Americans believe strongly our elected officials have let us down at the Federal and State levels, by allowing such lawlessness to continue. Our interest as Americans has not been protected by our leadership. We remain in harms way on a daily basis with the influx of illegal aliens and certainly, terrorists who easily cross our borders on a daily basis.

We urge you not to serve as a "rubber stamp" for the George Bush idealogy; the selling of America to grease the pockets of his rich friends who seek "cheap" labor. Please continue your aggresive campaign to give America back to Americans.

We want the illegals out of our state and our country. We as the voting population will show zero tolerance during the next election.

    Best regards,

    Dianne Boyter

She tried to sell this stuff on air recently here and couldn’t even say "Scott Gardner Act, She refereed to Scott as "Some Guy that wasd killed in my district by a drunk illegal."

Ask her why she votes on a bill that authorizes the use of the military on our borders each year, yet each year they don’t mandate that it be enforced.

She supported NAFTA and CAFTA and has allowed millions to be back-doored into our country through "Free Trade Agreements."

I hope that she does do something about illegal immigration but I am very cautious with someone who gets involved with the popular issues just before elections.

I agree. There is much more debate about this issue now that elections are drawing near. Politicians, don't you just love them?

No, I can’t stand them. They want to please everyone instead of standing up and doing what they were elected to do. I am considering a run for office in 08 so if they cant or wont do something, I will.

    Scubayons,
The longer they talk the bigger the lie.

You get the auto replies that don’t get followed up on. Here is the trick to getting them to speak to you. Whenever they make a public appearance, go and speak. There will be reporters and cameras for photo-ops, so go and ask the tough questions that Main Stream Media is refusing to do.

Myrick brushed me off when I asked my question, but her staff was on me like rabid wolves and I got a conference call from some of her top people in DC.

You can also call and speak with their press secretaries. They like to say all kinds of wonderful things to constituents, they represent the representative, so be sure to ask them the tough questions as well. Ask if you can quote them and ask if you can record the phone call. Have fun with it.

Dianne--don't buy into Myrick either. This is PURE POLITICS in its lowest form. She also voted FOR CAFTA. We have this THING here about our representatives who vote for these so-called "free" trade agreements because all they do is send even MORE illegals to our country for the few jobs that are left after the trade agreements did their damage sending them out.

Wait until you start getting bunches of the very same letter from Dole. I got SEVEN of the exact same letter in a couple of weeks time. In fact, I got THREE in ONE DAY. I finally broke down and called her office and told them if she couldn't send me something other than a form letter to save the postage. I packed them all up and sent them back to her. She will probalby recycle those!!!

Above's how I know she's blowing smoke. If she were serious, she'd want to put the boots on the ground WHILE agents are being trained AND the very high fence is being built.

She wants to run for Governor of North Carolina and she has found a VERY hot-button issue to run on. Simply put--she is just jumping on the most popular bandwagon out there for the sole reason of getting votes.
