    illegals driving without a license and let go!

    I've got a friend who's undergoing training to be a police officer in california.
    He and his training officer pulled over a car with three latino males, none of whom could produce a valid driver's license. They had been pulled over for a valid traffic violation. My friend's training officer told him they were probably illegals and to let them go!

    It goes without saying that if they were unlicensed they were uninsured as well right? You can't get insurance on a car without a driver's license right?

    I don't know the California law, but in N.J. you must have insurance to register a vehical. Now instead of letting them go why not arrest them on all charges. It make no sense. Do they let citizens go also?

    In California you MUST have a valid driver's license in order to get insurance. That is one of the first questions they ask you.
