This quote was sent around to Farmers Branch activist in the days preceding the election.

I must say, that this is the most thoughtless and unfamiliar statement about illegal immigration that I have seen in a while. You would think that a Bishop, which has a lot of contact with illegal aliens and knows all about their lives and needs, would know this statement is utterly foolish. Equally, you would think he would know the circumstances about the Messiah’s birth.

Really! For starters, Joseph and Mary did not illegally enter another country to have an anchor baby. Yes Bishop, Bethlehem is still in Judea. That's Israel in case you didn't know.

Secondly, Joseph and Mary were traveling and obeying the orders of King Herod so they were upholding the law despite their personal hardships.

Lastly, Farmers Branch is not in Israel but I will play along... Your right, they would not have been received at the inn. Instead, 911 would have been called and Mary would have been carried by emergency vehicle to Parkland Memorial Hospital, to deliver the baby at one of the busiest maternity wards in the country. Yes, that would make Jesus an anchor baby.
