IMPORTANT ALERT: RECIEVED FROM FRIEND IN CONGRESS!!!
From our friend in Congress:
Senate Majority Leader Reid used Rule 14 to bypass the committee process and bring up last year’s immigration bill, S.2611 on Wednesday of last week. The new bill, S. 1348 is the exact bill that passed the Senate last year. Two provisions were eliminated that have since become law via other legislation. Senate sources tell me all the Republican Senators have united against it and can make it difficult for Reid to get the 60 votes required for cloture. This is good news, BUT us still concerns me…
Negotiations between the Democrats and Republicans in the Senate continue…and the outlook for a bi-partisan bill changes from day-to-day. Senator Kennedy is getting a lot of flak from his various special interest groups and it is making negotiations difficult for him.
My concern is if the Republican band together and stop passage of last year’s legislation, then Kennedy can tell his special interest groups that he MUST go to the bargaining table and adopt some Republican principles in order to get AMNESTY.
Negotiations continue forward…at this time, we are hearing that many of the basic principles are being signed off on! As many of us know, moving from general basic principles to actual legislative language can be very hard task with so many individuals involved. Those devilish details!
BUT, I believe once the language is resolved and agreed upon…it will move FAST without hearings or markups, etc!!!
GET READY FOLKS! IT WILL BE A BUSY COUPLE OF WEEKS!!! WE NEED TO PRESSURE ALL SENATORS AND HOUSE LEADERSHIP (BOTH SIDES OF THE AISLE)
NO AMNESTY!!!!

I don't agree with Reed any more than I did last year.

This is a list of senators who voted in FAVOR of last years bill S.2611 (Call each one and demand that they change their vote to NAY this year. Start with the Republicans who voted in Favor last year. They are getting pressure from Harry Reid, telling them that they should vote the same this year.) If we don't have the Republican vote, we are done!
Republican Senators are in BOLD

We need to hit the newly elected Senators, too. Like Tester in Montana, a conservative state.
