Thread: Report: Trump to Meet Thursday With Black, Latino Activists

Donald Trump is scheduled to meet Thursday with African-American and Hispanic activists as part of the Republican Leadership Initiative in New York that trains diverse recruits to be field operatives, according to news reports.

The initiative is based in Queens, N.Y., and the meeting will be held at Trump Tower in Manhattan, Yahoo News reports.

"This is part of his Hispanic outreach — and I think he wanted to explain where he is and why he is a benefit to the Hispanic community," former New York Rep. Bob Turner, now chairman of the Queens County Republican Party, told Yahoo.

He is helping to organize the event. Other GOP sources confirmed the meeting, while the Trump campaign declined to comment to Yahoo.

Oh, so that's why he canceled his speech in Denver on Thursday. RNC Outreach Initiative for New York. Well, he really really really wants to win New York. Much bigger prize than Colorado and it is his home state.

Politics is a sneaky, dirty business.

He'll reschedule Denver. The trip to Louisiana messed up his schedule for at least a week and I am glad to see him working hard to win as much metro New York City as possible. He's doing well in outstate and upstate New York but in New York you've got to win a lot of votes in New York City to carry the state and black and latino voters could help him do that.
