Bush family should 'remember the loyalty' and back Trump: Sen. Jeff Sessions

The Bush family should remember the people who voted for them before deciding they won't support Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump, Alabama Sen. Jeff Sessions said.
In an interview with the Washington Examiner, Sessions expressed his frustration over recent reports that former President George H.W. Bush said he'd support Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton over Trump.
"Millions of Americans, including this one, worked their hearts out for the Bushes in 1988, 1992, 2000, and 2004," Sessions told the Examiner. "And it wasn't Bill Clinton that helped the Bushes get elected. It was the same voters, in large part, that elected Ronald Reagan and stand to elect Donald Trump.
"I think they're not thinking clearly enough about this," Sessions added. "They're not ... appreciating half the American people, virtually, that have been supportive of Republicans. A lot of them preferred somebody other than Bush candidates, but they rallied around them when it came to Nov. 1 So I would hope that we see more rallying."
Sessions added, however, that the Bush family has not formally announced any sort of endorsement and reports of the former president's decision to back Clinton came from Kathleen Hartington Kennedy Townsend. Townsend, a former Maryland Lt. Gov. and daughter of the late Robert F. Kennedy, is a Democrat.
"That's just a Democrat reporting what Mr. Bush said. I haven't heard him say anything," Sessions said.
Reports of George H.W. Bush's support emerged yesterday but weren't confirmed by the family. Former president George W. Bush "does not plan to participate in or comment on the presidential campaign," according to an aide. Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, who ended his own bid for the Republican presidential nomination after a series of attacks by Trump, said he will not vote for either Trump or Clinton.
Sessions was the first Senator to back Trump and has advised the business mogul turned politician on policy matters. He's also quick to defend Trump against those – especially fellow Republicans – who balk at backing their own party's nominee.
That includes the Bushes.
"I think (the Bushes) should remember the loyalty they were given by millions of Americans," Sessions said. "They should objectively analyze who is likely to advance best the agenda they favor and the agenda the Republicans who supported them favored. And that's clearly Donald Trump."

Yes, they sure should, Senator Jeff Sessions. Their sour grapes bull over Jeb losing the primary and Trump exposing their free trade crap should come to an end. The Bushes failed to enforce immigration law, protect our trade and keep the peace. If they want any semblance of respect in the future, they need to stand up like big men and women and support our nominee or forever be remembered as Tory Turn Coats who voted for the Democratic Party that supported slavery, defied Republican civil rights legislation for over 100 years, instituted Jim Crowe and Black Codes and stood for the unspeakable evil 2,000,000 Republicans risk their lives to end during the Civil War.
