A Loss of Sovereignty Disguised as Compassion

A Kauai man was sentenced to one year probation and a $200 fine on May 29, 2014 for letting his 8-year-old son walk one mile home as punishment for getting in trouble at school. I wondered what the progressive courts would do to American parents who would allow their minor children to trek unaccompanied across Mexico, hanging on trains, on buses, walking with a coyote, in order to arrive in a more prosperous country where welfare and economic security would await them through the generosity of a president who decided to nullify the southern border?
Social services and progressives don't seem to have any words of criticism for such neglectful parenting. On the contrary, they are praising their courage. I would not exactly call this type of parental abuse courage.
Nancy Pelosi assured the crowd gathered at the southern border that U.S. and Mexico are one nation, "a community with a border going through it." When Pelosi was elected Speaker of the House in 2007, she made sure all funding for the 2006 Secure Fence Act ceased. Charles Krauthammer made a good point that, if a border fence is not really effective, why is there still a fence around the White House?
Compassion, it is so easy to be compassionate with other people's money! Compassion is a human "feeling of deep sympathy and sorrow for another who is stricken by misfortune, accompanied by a strong desire to alleviate suffering." What's $4 billion when we are such a rich country and already in insurmountable debt? Yes, it's true, charity begins at home but, we are told, nobody in the U.S. is suffering. These tattooed young men and women with 4-5 kids in tow are special economic victims that must be treated with compassion.
We don't seem to have concern for the millions of Americans who are currently suffering in our own country. We don't have pity, empathy, and the money to treat the elderly properly. We don't have care and mercy for our sick veterans whom we treat with indifference and cruelty.
But we have selective compassion and humanity for the fellow human beings from Honduras, El Salvador, and Guatemala. After all, they are allegedly poor victims and United Nations wants to give them refugee status. They are refugees from their own mismanaged and corrupt governments whom they put in power time after time because they believe bigger governments are good. These shady governments are so crafty at what they do that they enrich themselves at the public socialist trough while keeping their citizens impoverished and suffering economic hardships.

The Soviets must have been received with compassion when they relocated Russians into the countries they had occupied! In this vein, we are compassionately populating the country with poor and government-dependent illegal immigrants who broke our laws and who will vote for Democrat fossils and a much larger government to care for the poor and unskilled, forever altering our collective future.

    • Do we even have a country anymore since the southern border is wide open to anyone except white Europeans?
    • As one of our Founding Fathers said, "A country without borders is no longer a country." Is being poor, destitute, and illiterate now the most important requirement for American citizenship?
    • Do "asylum seekers" no longer need to assimilate or know anything about our country's history, culture, and language?
    • Aren't "asylum seekers" supposed to be returned to the country where they first touched soil, in this case, Mexico? Is the extended hand to accept welfare and the know-how to get it faster the new reality in America?
    • What happens in this socialist utopia when we run out of other people's money and the ants refuse to work to support the invading crickets?

It is compassionate to help feed and house temporarily people in need. Is it compassionate to create chaos in our country, bring in third world problems into our communities, invite in any criminal elements who hate America and endanger our safety, overwhelm the police, destroy our school system, exacerbate the overburdened welfare system, inflate the unemployment rolls, increase our national debt, and destroy our children's future?

Pope Francis Calls on U.S. to Welcome Illegal Immigrants

by Robert Wilde 16 Jul 2014 post a comment
In his message to the “Mexico/Holy See Colloquium on Migration and Development,” Pope Francis characterized the tens of thousands of illegal immigrants that have crossed the U.S. southern border as a product of globalization, suggesting that the phenomenon is happening worldwide.

Francis proclaimed, “Despite the large influx of migrants present in all continents and in almost all countries, migration is still seen as an emergency, or as a circumstantial and sporadic fact, while instead it has now become a hallmark of our society and a challenge.”

Emmer McCarthy for Vatican Radio said Francis expressed his concern for “the tens of thousands of children who migrate alone, unaccompanied, to escape poverty and violence.” He further sympathized, saying that “this is a category of migrants… who cross the border with the United States under extreme conditions and in pursuit of a hope that in most cases turns out to be vain." The Pope added that the amount of those willing to take the dangerous journey “are increasing day by day."

The Argentinean pontiff claims that the illegal immigrants are “forced to emigrate, suffer, and often, die tragically; many of their rights are violated, they are obliged to separate from their families and, unfortunately, continue to be the subject of racist and xenophobic attitudes.”

Rebecca Hamilton reporting for Patheos wrote that Cardinal Parolin also addressed the Colloquium and stated: "Whether they are traveling because of poverty, or violence, or with the hope of reuniting with relatives on the other side of the border, it is urgent to protect them and help them because their vulnerability is greater and they are defenseless against any abuse or misfortune.”

Finally, the Pope called for everyone to have a new outlook toward “migrants and refugees” and that we should discard previous conceptions of “defensiveness and fear, indifference and marginalization.” Moreover, the world should transform itself from a “throwaway culture” to a culture "capable of building a better, more just and fraternal world."

This all so transparent. It simply amazes me that people can be this stupid as to believe that this just happened overnight. That all these children just suddenly traveling thousands of miles by themselves. They would never have made it by themselves and it does not take a genius to figure that out. Now we know why Obama has suddenly cut the military and ignored the world. He is fundamentally changing this country. Where do all the blacks think their food stamps and welfare will come from once they get all of south America's poor over here? American taxpayers cannot support the whole world. Although we have been doing it with foreign aid. Something will have to go. Guess we will find that out after we fight this next war they are stirring up. Maybe that is the plan to eliminate most of us. Would that surprise anyone?

This is indicative of this church, firing up his faithful, to do what? Continue to make demands upon the United States! It inflames the situation even more than it presently is, it seems to befriend the Islamic position. It is just plumb scary, and should not be ignored!

The current Pope, unfortunately, appears to be a Socialist that would interfere in the politics and national sovereignty of the United States by advocating for massive wealth redistribution of it's citizens to pay for the citizens of Communist Socialist countries. The Vatican is it's own country and the Pope should redistribute the vast wealth of the Vatican before interfering and injecting himself in a political manner in the United States. The Church has no business in the politics of this country and our Constitution guarantees us protection from State sponsored religion. If the Vatican, via the Catholic Church, engages in political activities, it should be considered a political entity and lose it's precious tax exempt status.

I feel sorry for honest intelligent Roman Catholics who are burdened with a Pope who obviously is an economic illiterate and theologically confused.

The U.S.is 17 trillion dollars in debt, and the government hasn’t the foggiest idea how it is going to pay it off. Now this Pope, this foolish socialist, thinks the U.S.should take in and provide for an unlimited number of illegal alien children.

Is this what Christians should do, spend unlimited billions of dollars providing for everyone? There are 7 billion people in the world, certainly most would like to reside in the USA. Should we let in and provide for all of them? Where is the limit? And when the lifeboat (the USA) is overwhelmed and it sinks and everyone drowns, is this what God wants? Is this responsible Christian behavior and Christian parenting for their own children? But if any provide not for his own, and especially for those of his own house, he has denied the faith, and is worse than an unbeliever.” 1 Timothy 5: 8

“For if a man cannot manage his own household, how can he take care of God's church?” 1 Timothy 3:5. This foolish little man clearly confuses Christ’s teachings of personal voluntary charity with Marxists state enforced looting.

IMO it's more like an abdication of sovereignty - an abdication by a president who cannot resist this opportunity to thumb his nose at the American people on a grand scale.

IMO it's even worse than that. Francis comes across as confused. Actually he's anything but. The first rule of politcal analysis is, Follow the money. The "refugees" who are flooding into our country will undercut Americans for jobs. And they will also fill the Catholic church's collection plates on Sunday.

Way back in the 1920's, I think it was, Alfred P. Sloan, the CEO of General Motors, said, "The business of business is business." This rare example of complete corporate candor alerts us to the fact that, if we want businesses to act responsibly, we'll have to compel them to do so.

Francis and the rest of the Catholic hierarchy are no different than are any other corporate executives. They will say whatever is to the corporation's advantage. It's up to us to preserve American jobs and the quality of American life.
